The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that Decision No 5 / 98 was signed in Brussels on 2 December 1998 The Association Council between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Czech Republic, of the other part, of 2 December 1998, amending Decision No 2 / 97 of the Association Council in connection with the financial contribution of the Czech Republic. *)
Decision No 5 / 98 entered into force on 2 December 1998 pursuant to Article 3 thereof.
Czech version The decision shall be made simultaneously.

and the Czech Republic, of the other part
of 2 December 1998
amending Decision No 2 / 97 of the Association Council
in connection with the financial contribution of the Czech Republic
The Association Council,
Having regard to the Europe Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Czech Republic, of the other part; 1)
Having regard to the Additional Protocol of the Europe Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Czech Republic, of the other part, (2) concerning the participation of the Czech Republic in Community programmes, in particular Articles 1 and 2 thereof;
Having regard to Decision No 2 / 97 of the Association Council between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Czech Republic, of the other part, of 30 September 1997 adopting the conditions for the participation of the Czech Republic in Community programmes in the field of preparation for employment, youth and education; 3)
Whereas, in accordance with Article 1 of the Additional Protocol, the Czech Republic may participate in Community framework programmes, special programmes, projects or other activities, in particular in the field of preparation for employment, youth and education;
Whereas, in accordance with Article 2 of the Additional Protocol, the conditions for the participation of the Czech Republic in the activities referred to in Article 1 are subject to the decisions of the Association Council;
Whereas the provisions concerning the financial contribution by the Czech Republic provided for in Annex II, paragraph 7 to Decision No 2 / 97 of the Association Council should be adapted in accordance with Annex I, paragraph 5 to the Decision,
Decision as follows:
Paragraph 7 Annexes II to Decision No 2 / 97 of the Association Council will be replaced by the following text:
"7. The Czech Republic shall reimburse the additional administrative costs referred to in paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 of its State budget.
Furthermore, the Czech Republic shall pay 50% of the remaining amount of its annual contribution to the Leonardo da Vinci programme referred to in paragraph 3 and 67% of the remaining amount of its annual contribution to the Socrates and Youth programmes for Europe referred to in paragraphs 4 and 5.
The remaining 50% for Leonardo, 33% for Socrates and Youth for Europe will be paid from the annual National Indicative Programme Phare of the Czech Republic and will be subject to normal Phare planning procedures. "
This Decision shall apply for the duration of the Leonardo da Vinci, Youth for Europe and Socrates programmes.
This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption by the Association Council.
