The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that on 5 December 1996 the Joint Committee of the European Community and the European Free Trade Association "Common Transit Scheme" Resolution No 3 / 1996 amending Article 50 of Annex II to the Convention of 20 May 1987 on a common transit procedure was adopted in Brussels. *) Order No 3 / 1996 was published in the form of a Notice under No 34 / 1997 Coll.
Order No 3 / 1996 entered into force on 1 March 1997 on the basis of Article 2 and entered into force on that date for the Czech Republic.
The Czech translation of the resolution is announced retrospectively.

Resolution No 3 / 1996 of the EC-EFTA Joint Committee
Common transit procedure
of 5 December 1996
amending Article 50 of Annex II to the Convention of 20 May 1987 on a common transit procedure
The Joint Committee,
based on the Convention of 20 May 1987 on a common transit procedure (1), in particular Article 15 (3) (a),
taking into account the following reasons:
Annex II to the Convention contains, inter alia, provisions on irregularities in the common transit procedure;
In view of the numerous outstanding transit operations, it is recommended to introduce additional possibilities of evidence allowing the clearance of common transit operations pursuant to Article 50 of Annex II to the Convention of 20 May 1987;
He acted as follows:
Article 50 of Annex II to the Convention is replaced by the following:
In the cases referred to in Article 34 (2) (d) of the Annex The competent authorities shall verify the proper execution of the T1 or T2 transit operation:
(a) the presentation of a customs or commercial document certified by the competent authorities indicating that the goods concerned have been delivered to the place of destination or, where Article 111 applies, to an approved consignee. This document shall contain sufficient data to identify the goods;
or
(b) the presentation of a customs document for placing the goods under a customs procedure drawn up in a third country or a copy or a photocopy of that document. The correctness of that copy or photocopy shall be verified either by the authority of the third country concerned or by the authority of one of the countries which confirmed the original document. This document shall contain sufficient data to identify the goods concerned. ';
This resolution shall enter into force on 1 March 1997.
