The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that Decision No 2 of the Joint Committee of the Free Trade Agreement between the Czech Republic and Romania concerning amendments to the provisions of Protocol 1 to the Free Trade Agreement was signed in Bucharest on 14 August 1995. 1)
Decision No 2 on the basis of its paragraph C entered into force on 29 December 1995.

Joint Committee of the Free Trade Agreement
between the Czech Republic and Romania
concerning amendments to the provisions of Protocol 1 to the Free Trade Agreement
Having regard to the Joint Declaration by the Delegations of the Governments of the Czech Republic and Romania, led by the Prime Ministers of both countries, on 24 October 1994 in Prague,
in accordance with Article 37 of the Free Trade Agreement between the Czech Republic and Romania,
in order to accelerate the liberalisation of trade between industrial products,
taking into account the results of expert groups meetings,
A. The Joint Committee agrees to amend Protocol 1 to the Free Trade Agreement as follows:
Point 1 shall read as follows:
"Import duties applicable in the Czech Republic to products originating in Romania listed in the Annex This Protocol shall be progressively reduced in accordance with the following timetable:
| - k datu vstupu této dohody | |
| v platnost | - na 75 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 1996 | - na 30 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 1997 | - na 25 % základního cla, |
| - 1. července 1997 | - zbývající cla budou zrušena.“ |
Point 2 will read:
"The import duties applicable in the Czech Republic to products originating in Romania listed in Annex B to this Protocol shall be progressively reduced in accordance with the following timetable:
| - 1. ledna 1996 | - na 80 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 1998 | - na 60 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 2000 | - na 40 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 2001 | - zbývající cla budou zrušena." |
Point 3 shall read as follows:
"The import duties applicable in the Czech Republic to products originating in Romania listed in Annex C to this Protocol shall be abolished on 1 January 1997. '
Point 5 shall read as follows:
"Import duties applicable in Romania to products originating in the Czech Republic listed in the Annex This Protocol shall be progressively reduced in accordance with the following timetable:

| v platnost | - na 75 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 1996 | - na 30 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 1997 | - na 25 % základního cla, |
| - 1. července 1997 | - zbývající cla budou zrušena." |
Point 6 will read:
"The import duties applicable in Romania to products originating in the Czech Republic listed in Annex E to this Protocol shall be progressively reduced in accordance with the following timetable:
| - 1. ledna 1996 | - na 80 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 1998 | - na 60 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 2000 | - na 40 % základního cla, |
| - 1. ledna 2001 | - zbývající cla budou zrušena." |
B. The provisions of points 4, 7 and 8 and Annexes A, B, C, D, E and F to Protocol 1 shall remain unchanged.
C. This Decision shall enter into force on the date of service of a later diplomatic note confirming its approval by the Government of the Party concerned.
