Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that on 19 May 1995 the Agreement between the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania on cooperation in the field of health was signed in Prague.
The Agreement entered into force on the date of signature, 19 May 1995. The date of entry into force of the Agreement was confirmed by notes.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time. The English version of the Agreement, which is relevant for its interpretation, can be consulted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
AGREEMENT
between the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania on cooperation in the field of health
Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting Parties',
wishing to establish relations between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Lithuania and recognising the need for international cooperation and shared responsibility in the field of health care,
agree as follows:
The Agreement is subject to increasing development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of health.
The Parties shall promote cooperation in particular in the following areas:
1. Exchange of health information on health organisation, public health, health insurance, health education and education.
2. Direct cooperation between the institutions and organisations of the Parties.
3. Exchange of experience in problem areas of interest to both Parties.
4. Exchange of medical publications.
The Parties shall assist each other in addressing environmental problems related to the health of the population and communicable diseases, in particular by exchanging information on the environment and the health of the population, on the occurrence of serious communicable diseases, as well as on preventive measures taken, including the treatment of those communicable diseases.
In order to implement this Agreement, the health ministries of both States shall negotiate cooperation plans in which, among other matters, the financial conditions resulting from the specific activities and cooperation provided for in Articles 1 to 3 of this Agreement will be specified.
This Agreement shall be negotiated for an indefinite period. The Contracting Parties may terminate this Agreement at any time in writing and the Agreement shall expire three months after the date of transmission of the note informing the other Contracting Party of such termination.
Dane in Prague on the 19th month of the 5th year 1995 in two original copies, each in Czech, Lithuanian and English. In case of differences in interpretation, the English language version shall be decisive.
