on the Treaty on friendship and cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the People's Republic of China.
On 27 March 1957, the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the People's Republic of China was negotiated in Beijing.
The National Assembly gave its consent to the Treaty on 4 July 1957 and was ratified by the President of the Republic on 23 July 1957. The instruments of ratification were exchanged in Prague on 1 August 1957.
According to Article 7 of the Treaty, the Treaty entered into force on 1 August 1957.

TREATY
ON FRIENDS AND COOPERATION
BETWEEN THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND THE CHINA REPUBLIC
President of the Czechoslovak Republic and President of the People's Republic of China
led by an attempt to further develop and consolidate the subtle advantages of further developing and consolidating close friendship and brotherly cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the People's Republic of China on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefits,
determined to fully respect and support the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and to do everything in their power to preserve and consolidate world peace in order to ensure the security of the peoples of the Czechoslovak Republic and the People's Republic of China, as well as all the peoples of Europe and Asia,
firmly convinced that the development and consolidation of friendly relations and brotherly cooperation between the Czechoslovak Republic and the People's Republic of China correspond to the interests of the Czechoslovak and Chinese people as well as those of the people of the world,
have decided to conclude this Treaty and to appoint, for that purpose, their authorised representatives:
President of the Czechoslovak Republic, Prime Minister of the Czechoslovak Republic,
President of the People's Republic of China
After the exchange of full powers found in good and proper form, the representatives of both parties have agreed on the following provisions:
Both Parties solemnly confirm that both States will participate in the spirit of sincere cooperation of all international acts aimed at ensuring world peace and security of the nations and consistent with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
In the spirit of brotherly cooperation, both Parties will consult each other on all important international issues relating to the interests of both Parties, ensuring and consolidating world peace, paying particular attention to ensuring the integrity of their territories and the security of their states in these consultations.
The Parties undertake to consolidate and develop friendly relations and brotherly cooperation in accordance with their interests and on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual advantages.
Both Parties will help each other economically and further develop all-round economic cooperation beneficial to both parties in the interests of peaceful construction.
In order to contribute to the development of friendship between the peoples of the two States and its national culture, both Parties shall take measures to develop and expand cultural relations between the two States. Both Parties will provide each other with all possible assistance in order to develop science and technological progress.
This Treaty shall remain in force until both Parties agree to amend or repeal it.
This Treaty must be ratified and enter into force on the date of the exchange of instruments of ratification. The instruments of ratification will be exchanged in Prague.
This Treaty was signed in Beijing on 27 March 1957 in two specimens, each in the Czech and Chinese languages, both of which have the same validity.
