on cooperation in cultural, scientific and related areas
The Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Finland on cooperation in cultural, scientific and related areas was signed in Helsinki on 12 October 1973.
Pursuant to Article 6 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 1 January 1974.
The Slovak version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time. *)

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Finland on cooperation in cultural, scientific and related areas
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Republic of Finland,
guided by the desire to further develop cooperation between the two countries,
they have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the fields of culture, science, education, social policy, health, information, sport, agriculture and forestry, youth activity and other related areas of mutual interest.
To this end, the Parties shall, inter alia, endeavour to promote and facilitate:
(a) exchanges of scientists, experts, professors, teachers, students and trainees;
(b) cooperation between scientific and higher education institutions;
(c) exchanges of artistic ensembles, artists and exhibitions of a cultural and information nature;
(d) exchanges in the field of physical education and sport;
(e) exchanges of books, periodicals and other publications from areas covered by this Agreement;
f) organisation of lectures and conferences.
The Parties shall provide the citizens of the other Party with the scholarship in a manner to be determined in the cooperation programmes.
The Parties will support the activities of the Finnish-Czechoslovak Society and the Finnish section of the Nordic Committee during the Czechoslovak Society for International Relations.
The Parties agree that cooperation established in the field of radio and television is mutually beneficial and will support it.
For the purpose of implementing the following: The Parties agree to establish a Joint Commission, which will, under the constitutional requirements and applicable laws and regulations of the Party concerned, develop cooperation programmes in time, specifying the means and means, scope and financial conditions of cooperation. If deemed useful by the Commission, it may set up subcommittees for the different areas of cooperation referred to in this Agreement.
This Agreement shall enter into force on 1 January 1974 and shall remain in force until one of the Contracting Parties has given notice of six months' notice.
