on the Trade Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Burmese Union
The Trade Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Burmese Union was signed in Rangoon on 8 October 1971.
Pursuant to Article 8 thereof, the Agreement entered into force with effect from the date of signature, i.e. 8 October 1971.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

TRADE AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Burmese Union
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Burmese Union, wishing to expand economic and trade relations between the two countries, have hereby agreed to conclude the following trade agreement:
Both governments will develop and strengthen trade relations between the two countries in accordance with the principles of equality of rights and mutual benefit. Each government will study proposals that the other government would put forward for consideration and follow decisions that would be agreed between the two governments in order to achieve closer economic relations.
Each government shall allow the export of its export goods to the other country and facilitate the import of export goods from the other country and shall facilitate the issue of export and import authorisations in accordance with its applicable laws, regulations and administrative practices as regards export and import authorisations.
Each government shall grant treatment to the other Government on the basis of the most favourable principle of customs duties, taxes, charges and customs procedures.
Each government shall provide the trading vessels of the other country when entering, leaving its ports and embedding them, treatment according to the most favourable principle, granted under the relevant laws, regulations and regulations to ships flying the flag of any third country.
All salaries relating to goods sold and purchased between the two countries shall be made in any convertible currency acceptable to both governments. If necessary, bank arrangements between the two countries shall be negotiated separately between the respective banks of the two countries.
Both governments will consult each other whenever necessary to recommend measures to expand trade between them and to overcome the difficulties that might arise in meeting the provisions of this Agreement.
The completion of this Agreement will be negotiated by exchange of notes between the two governments.
This Agreement shall enter into force with effect from the date of signature and shall apply until 31 December 1972. It shall be automatically extended for the next year unless one of the Contracting Parties notifies in writing its intention to terminate this Agreement three months in advance.
Done at Rangoon, 8 October 1971, in two original copies, the two copies being equally authentic.
