on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Republic of Egypt on scientific and technical cooperation.
On 6 May 1957, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Republic of Egypt on scientific and technical cooperation was negotiated in Cairo.
The President of the Republic ratified the Agreement on 6 December 1957 and the instruments of ratification were exchanged in Prague on 13 January 1958.
Pursuant to Article 8 of the Agreement, which shall apply from 6 May 1957, it entered into force on 13 January 1958.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Republic of Egypt on scientific and technical cooperation
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Republic of Egypt, wishing to strengthen their friendly relations and to deepen the development of their economic relations and to develop scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries, have agreed as follows:
Both Parties undertake scientific and technical cooperation to make effective use of the latest results of science and technology in the economic construction of both countries.
Cooperation within the meaning of Article 1 of this Agreement shall be carried out by mutual scientific and technical assistance, in particular:
(a) exchange of experts;
(b) enabling professional experience and the award of school scholarships.
The terms and scope of the cooperation referred to in Article 1 shall be negotiated by both Parties for a specific period of time. The results of these negotiations shall always be expressed in a Protocol to be negotiated by both Parties.
The scope of work, remuneration arrangements and other working conditions of each expert will be agreed by the respective representatives of both Parties in the form of separate agreements for each individual case.
This provision shall not apply to experts, technicians, officials or participants whose obligations are agreed and contained in contracts or orders concluded between representatives or organisations of both Contracting Governments.
The experts referred to in Article 4 will in no way interfere with the political or religious affairs of the country to which they will be sent.
Each Contracting Party shall undertake to provide the experts of the other Contracting Party with all the conditions for the successful performance of its tasks.
Each Contracting Party shall undertake to ensure that the knowledge acquired by it is not communicated to anyone without the consent of the Contracting Party providing assistance.
This Agreement will be ratified by both Contracting Parties and will enter into force as soon as the instruments of ratification are exchanged in Prague, but will be implemented from the date of signature.
This Agreement shall remain in force until six months after the date on which one of the Parties denies it in writing.
Dane v Cairo, on 6 May 1957 in duplicate, each in the Czech, Arabic and English languages, each text being equally authentic.
In the event of contradictions, the English text is decisive.
