of 31 January 1980
on the Long-term Trade Protocol between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Turkey
On 3 September 1979, the Long-term Trade Protocol between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Turkey was signed in Ankara. The Protocol entered into force on 1 January 1980 on the basis of Article 7 thereof and will expire on 31 December 1982.
The Czech translation of the text of the Long-term Commercial Protocol is announced simultaneously.

LONG-TERM TRADE PROTOCOL
between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Turkey
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Republic of Turkey
in the spirit of friendly relations that exist between the two countries,
Desiring the long-term development of a balanced exchange of goods under the Trade Agreement signed on 29 August 1975,
agree as follows:
The two Parties will support, by all means at their disposal, the steady growth and diversification of trade between the two countries in order to achieve an annual reciprocal turnover in the exchange of goods of $200 million by 31 December 1982.
The exchange of goods between the two countries will be carried out in agreement with the trade agreement concluded between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Turkey, signed in Ankara on 29 August 1975.
Goods for trade are listed in the list "A" - Czechoslovak export to the Republic of Turkey and in the list "B" - Turkish export to the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
These lists of goods are indicative and items not included in these lists may be exchanged.
The meetings of the Joint Commission, which shall take place within the meaning of the existing trade agreement of 29 August 1975, shall examine the performance of the "A 'and" B' indications referred to in Article 2 and the abovementioned indications may be amended or extended by mutual agreement between the Parties.
Both parties shall take the necessary measures to achieve a balanced and increasing level of trade in long-term prospects.
Both parties will encourage interested companies and organisations in their countries to conclude contracts or agreements for the supply of goods and items listed in the above lists.
The competent authorities in both countries will consider the applications for import or export licences for goods to be exchanged in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations and regulations in force in each country.
The exchange of goods and items listed in the Annex to this Protocol shall take place on the basis of commercial conditions and current prices applicable on international markets.
This Protocol shall enter into force on 1 January 1980 and shall apply until 31 December 1982.
Signed in Ankara on 3 September 1979 in two originals in English, both texts being equally authentic.
