on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden on scientific and technical cooperation
The Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden on scientific and technical cooperation was signed in Stockholm on 13 October 1971.
Pursuant to Article 5 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 26 January 1972.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden on scientific and technical cooperation
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, wishing to develop scientific and technical cooperation between the participating organisations, associations and undertakings of both countries on the basis of mutual benefit, have agreed as follows:
The Parties will encourage and facilitate the development and strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation between stakeholders, associations and businesses in different areas of economic life.
In pursuit of this objective, the Parties shall in particular endeavour to:
(a) exchanges of experts and visits of experts and technicians for research, study, practice, consultation and exchange of views;
(b) the exchange of technical documentation and information, including technical publications and films, between institutions and businesses, as well as arrangements in the field of patents and licences;
(c) joint study of problems in the field of applied science, including the possible introduction of results into production;
(d) joint research, development, experimental work and the exchange of research results and experience between scientific research institutions, organisations and enterprises;
(e) the organisation of special courses and conferences;
(f) cooperation on projects of common interest;
(g) other forms of scientific and technical cooperation agreed upon.
A Joint Commission will be appointed to monitor the implementation of this Agreement. The Commission may submit proposals to both governments for new possibilities for cooperation. It may also discuss the principles and methods of such cooperation.
It will be composed of representatives of the competent authorities of both countries, as well as interested organisations and associations. Representatives of the undertakings concerned may be invited to attend meetings of the Joint Commission.
The Joint Commission may, as appropriate, set up working groups to examine specific questions.
The Joint Commission will normally meet once a year, alternately in Czechoslovakia and Sweden. Extraordinary meetings may be convened by mutual agreement of the Parties.
Under this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall encourage the conclusion of bilateral agreements between organisations, associations and undertakings of both countries. They shall inform each other of such agreements to the extent possible.
The country sending the specialists as foreseen in Article 1 shall pay, unless otherwise agreed by the competent organisations, associations and undertakings, all expenditure relating to travel and accommodation and subsistence, costs related to teaching and laboratory work, to the beneficiary countries.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes confirming compliance with the constitutional requirements of both countries. It shall remain in force until one of the Contracting Parties has given written notice within six months. The termination of this Agreement shall in no way affect the validity of the arrangements and contracts already concluded between the participating organisations, associations and undertakings.
