General provisions on vertical road signs
§ 4
Implementation of vertical transport signs
(1) The vertical traffic signs are:
(a) permanent signs of transport which are placed on posts or structures firmly incorporated in the field;
(b) the characteristics of the transport signs displayed on the panels;
(c) portable road signs which are placed on red and white striped columns or stands which are not fixed in the field or on the vehicle.
(2) The colour design of vertical traffic signs may be different from the permanent traffic signs, in such a way that the background of the traffic signs is dark and the inscriptions, symbols and boundaries light; the location of the red colour on the transport signs is identical to its location on the permanent transport signs. The command variables of the transport mark shall have the same colour as the permanent command signs.
(3) The shapes of symbols and inscriptions of vertical transport signs are based on the shape of symbols and inscriptions of permanent signs.
(4) Vertical road signs governing priority cannot be used as variables of traffic signs.
§ 5
Position of vertical road signs
(1) Vertical road signs shall be placed in such a way that they are visible to the road users for whom they are intended in time and at a sufficient distance.
(2) Vertical road signs are usually placed at the right edge of the road or above the road, depending on their importance; To highlight their importance, marks placed at the right edge of the road may be repeated even at the left edge of the road or above the ground. The placing of vertical road signs on road communication for pedestrians is regulated by specific legislation. 2)
(3) To highlight the importance and improve visibility, the vertical road sign can be placed on a retroreflective yellow-green fluorescent base.
(4) The columns or stands on which vertical portable road signs are affixed may be placed on the road, taking into account the nature and extent of the transport measures.
(5) There shall be no indication or location on the transport signs and their columns, stands or structures, on the transport equipment and on the transport information equipment of any kind not related to the transport mark, transport equipment or transport information.
§ 6
Validity of vertical road signs
(1) The vertical road sign placed next to the road or above the road shall be valid for the entire road in a given direction of travel.
(2) Paragraph 1 shall not apply to:
(a) a stop sign or command sign placed above the marked lane, which applies only to the lane above which it is placed;
(b) a vertical stop or stand sign which applies only to the side of the road at which it is located.
(3) The prohibition, restriction or order resulting from the vertical road sign ends at a more distant border of the nearest intersection unless it has previously been terminated otherwise; This does not apply to the restriction or order expressed by the vertical road sign "Snow chains' (No C 5a), whose validity ends with the vertical road sign" Snow chains - end '(No C 5b), the vertical road sign "Winter equipment' (No C 15a), whose validity ends with the vertical road sign" Winter equipment - end '(No C 15b), the vertical road sign "End of the pedestrian zone' (No IP 26a), whose validity ends with the vertical road sign" End of the residential zone '(No IP 26b), and the vertical road sign "Night zone' (No IP 27a), whose validity ends with the vertical traffic sign" End of the traffic zone '(No IP 26a).
(4) Marks governing the priority "Cross-roads with side roads" (No P 1), "Main roads" (No P 2), "End of main roads" (No P 3), "Take priority in driving!" (No P 4), "Take priority in driving a tram!" (No P 5) and "Stop, take priority in driving!" (No P 6) apply to the nearest intersection.
(5) If the method and arrangement of the permitted parking space is not marked by horizontal traffic signs, or if the traffic signs No IP 11a "Parking" up to IP 13c "Parking with a parking lot" are not valid otherwise, the traffic signs No IP 11a "Parking" up to IP 13c "Parking with a parking lot" 5 m before the border of the nearest intersection shall end.
(6) Unless the validity of the transport mark No IP 15c is terminated by other means, it ends at a further border of the nearest intersection. This does not apply if another stop sign No IP 15c is located within 20 metres of the intersection.
(7) The validity of the transport mark No IP 11a "Parking" up to No IP 13c "Parking lot with a parking meter" is interrupted by entering or leaving places outside the infrastructure.
(8) The temporary invalidity of the transport equipment, the transport mark or the part thereof shall be expressed by crossing or overlapping the orange-black stripe; However, in this way, the validity of the vertical road sign governing priority cannot be expressed.
