on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Government of the Republic of Austria on the establishment of road crossings at common national borders
On 22 November 1977, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Government of the Republic of Austria on the establishment of road crossings at common national borders was signed in Vienna. The Agreement entered into force pursuant to Article 5 thereof on 21 January 1978.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Government of the Republic of Austria on the establishment of road crossings at common national borders
the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Government of the Republic of Austria,
guided by the desire to further develop good neighbourly relations with each other on the basis of the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe; and
to enhance cooperation in international passenger and freight long-distance transport as well as tourism,
agree on the following:
1. At the common national borders, a road crossing will be established for international long-distance transport of persons, with the exception of buses and vehicles not intended for the transport of persons, between the Czechoslovak municipality of Hestlín and the Austrian city of Laa an der Thaya at border sign IX / 26.
2. The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic will build road II / 415 from the village of Hestlín to the common state borders. The Federal Government of the Republic of Austria shall adjust road B 6 in the immediate area of the national borders.
1. At the common state borders, a road crossing will be established for international passenger and freight long-distance transport between the Czechoslovak municipality of Studánky and the Austrian village of Weigetschlag at border signs II / 59 and II / 60.
2. The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic will build Road II / 161 from the village of Studánky to the common state borders. The Federal Government of the Republic of Austria shall adapt the road B 126 at Weigetschlag to the common national borders.
The Contracting Parties agree to terminate the construction work in such a way that it is possible to start operations on road crossings referred to in Article 1 (1) and Article 2 (1) by 31 December 1978 at the latest.
The Contracting Parties shall, in accordance with their national law, ensure the necessary conditions for border handling within the period referred to in Article 3.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the 60th day following its signature.
To prove it, the agents signed this agreement.
Done at Vienna, 22 November 1977 in duplicate, each in the Czech and German languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
