on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the French Republic on scientific and technical cooperation
On 29 June 1965 the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the French Republic on scientific and technical cooperation was signed in Prague.
The Agreement entered into force on 14 January 1966 on the basis of its Article 9, by mutual exchange of a note of approval.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the French Republic on scientific and technical cooperation
the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the French Republic,
guided by the desire to facilitate and develop cooperation between Czechoslovakia and France in the field of science and technology,
convinced that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening friendly relations and exchanges between the two States,
have decided to conclude the following Agreement:
The Parties undertake to develop and strengthen scientific and technical cooperation. It shall, by consensus, define the different areas of this cooperation, taking into account the experience gained by both States' scientists and techniques and the possibilities offered in each area.
The scientific and technical cooperation referred to in Article 1 shall be carried out:
(a) providing study scholarships or internships to natural sciences students, engineering students, engineers and technicians of both States;
(b) by organising trips of specialists and technicians;
(c) exchange of scientific and technical documentation;
(d) organising scientific and technical lectures, conferences and colloquia.
Both Contracting Parties acknowledge: The arrangements between the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and the National Research Centre concluded on 21 May 1964 will support both institutions in continuing and expanding their contacts in the field of scientific research.
The Parties shall support the establishment and development of centres for the scientific and technical documentation of the other country on their territory and shall take appropriate measures to that end.
Each Contracting Party shall facilitate the further dissemination of scientific and technical books and publications of the other country, both through commercial channels and through exchanges and donations.
Each Contracting Party shall make available on its territory to persons seconded by the other Contracting Party pursuant to the provisions of this Agreement all the necessary conditions for the performance of their tasks.
1. Both Contracting Parties shall establish a Czechoslovak-French Standing Committee to ensure the implementation of this Agreement.
2. In order to ensure close coordination in the field of cultural, scientific and technical relations, members of this Standing Committee will be the legal members of the Czechoslovak-French Joint Commission, established under the Protocol on Cultural, Scientific and Technical Exchange of 26 September 1964.
3. The Standing Committee will meet alternately in Prague and Paris in principle once a year. It will address in particular the periodic scientific and technical exchange plans. He may invite experts to the meetings as necessary.
The Czechoslovak and French Presidents of the Standing Committee shall take note, by Exchange of Letters, of specific arrangements which the competent authorities of both States would consider necessary in the areas covered by this Agreement.
Each Contracting Party shall notify in writing to the other Party the approval of the Agreement in accordance with its respective constitutional provisions. The Agreement shall enter into force as from the date of the last of these written notifications.
This Agreement shall be concluded for five years and may be extended in silence. Each Contracting Party may terminate it at six months notice.
Dane in Prague on 29 June 1965 in two copies, each in the Czech and French languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
