of 5 January 1968
on the Cultural Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Sudan
On 11 October 1967 the Cultural Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Sudan was signed in Prague.
Pursuant to Article 14 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on the date of signature.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

CULTURAL AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Sudan
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Sudanese Republic, conducted by an effort to extend cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries in order to further develop friendly relations and strengthen mutual understanding between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Sudan, have agreed as follows:
Both Parties will consolidate cultural, scientific and artistic contacts by exchanging information on research activities, exchange of textbooks, publications, information brochures, exhibitions, films, educational data, science, culture, sport, press, radio, television and other fields.
1. The Parties shall promote cooperation in:
(a) exchange of university professors, scientists and researchers;
(b) the exchange of scientific, educational, cultural, artistic and sporting delegations;
(c) exchange of writers, journalists, correspondents and representatives of press offices;
2. Each Contracting Party shall make available on its territory to persons seconded by the other Contracting Party pursuant to paragraph 1 all the necessary conditions for the performance of its tasks.
1. Each Party shall allow students of the other Party to study in its schools and research staff in the relevant higher education institutions and institutes.
2. Each Party shall provide the other Party with scholarships to study in its schools, as far as possible.
1. The two Parties shall recognise the degrees, diplomas and certificates issued in the other country.
2. A specific agreement will be concluded on the comparability of scientific degrees and diplomas.
The Parties shall promote direct cooperation between universities and scientific institutions of both countries.
The Parties shall promote and facilitate cooperation between cultural organisations of both countries.
1. Each Party shall promote the issuance of translations, as well as the dissemination of books and publications on historical developments, the results of development and activities achieved in all areas of the life of the other country.
2. The competent authorities of both Parties will cooperate in the preparation of textbooks and teaching tools.
Both Parties shall support and facilitate each other:
(a) the exchange of artists, orchestras and ensembles;
b) organizing exhibitions and lectures,
(c) the exchange of gramophone boards, magnetophones and artistic publications;
(d) the exchange of cultural and art workers for professional activity or the acquisition of qualifications.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between radio and television institutions and organisations, the presentation of films by the other Party, the exchange of experts on the cinema section, the organisation of film festivals, cooperation between libraries, museums and other institutions with a view to exchanging scientific material and periodicals.
The Parties shall cooperate and assist each other within international scientific, educational and cultural organisations.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between sports organisations and associations of both countries and assist each other in the preparation and improvement of the expertise of workers in this field.
Both Parties shall allow the establishment of cultural and technical centres in their territory in accordance with their national rules.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the competent authorities of the Contracting Parties shall negotiate exchange plans for a period of one or two years.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature and shall remain in force unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing at six months' notice.
Dane in Prague on 11 October 1967 in two copies, each in the Czech and Arabic languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
