on the Treaty on friendship and cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Indonesia
On 29 May 1961 the Treaty of Friendship between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Indonesia was signed in Prague.
The Treaty was approved by the National Assembly on 19 September 1961 and ratified by the President of the Republic on 11 December 1961. The instruments of ratification were exchanged in Djakarta on 10 January 1963.
Pursuant to Article 7 of the Treaty, the Treaty entered into force on 10 January 1963.
The Czech version of the Treaty is hereby published at the same time.

TREATY
on friendship and cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Indonesia
President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and President of the Republic of Indonesia,
led by efforts to further develop and consolidate friendly relations and cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Indonesia on the basis of mutual respect for national sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefits,
firmly committed to contributing to reducing international tensions, creating trust between states and developing international cooperation,
convinced that further consolidation and development of friendly relations and mutual cooperation between Czechoslovakia and Indonesia correspond to the interests of the people of both countries,
Desiring to pursue in their mutual relations the objectives and principles of the United Nations and Resolution XIII of the United Nations General Assembly on measures to implement and disseminate peaceful and neighbourhood relations between states,
they have decided to conclude the following friendship and cooperation agreement:
Both Parties solemnly declare that both States will participate in all international acts aimed at ensuring world peace and security, developing peaceful cooperation and the complete destruction of colonialism and imperialism in all its speeches and which are consistent with the objectives and principles of the United Nations Charter.
The Parties shall exchange views on important international issues concerning the interests of both Parties.
The Parties undertake to develop their relations and cooperation on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual advantages.
The Parties agree to resolve any dispute which may arise between them by exclusively peaceful means and in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations Charter.
The Contracting Parties believe that mutually beneficial economic cooperation is a solid basis for their peaceful and friendly relations and therefore undertake to further consolidate this cooperation in order to build and develop both countries.
The two Parties agree to further develop and promote contacts in the field of education, culture, science and technology in order to provide the widest possible knowledge of the cultural wealth of the other country and the continuous increase of the technical level of their economies, thereby contributing to the deepening of understanding between the peoples of both countries.
1. This Treaty shall be subject to ratification and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of instruments of ratification which will take place in Djakarta at the shortest possible time.
2. This Treaty shall be negotiated for an unlimited period of time and shall remain in force unless written notice has been given in writing by either Contracting Party.
Dane in Prague on 29 May 1961 in duplicate in the Czech, Indonesian and English languages, all three texts being equally authentic.
