on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania on cultural cooperation
On 19 December 1966, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania on Cultural Cooperation was signed in Dar es Salaam.
Pursuant to Article 13 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 7 February 1968.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania on cultural cooperation
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, led by an effort to strengthen the development of peaceful cooperation and wish to expand mutual contacts in the fields of culture, education, science and art, thereby contributing to the deepening and development of friendly relations between the two states, have decided to conclude this agreement and to this end have appointed their agents:

Those who exchanged their powers of attorney, whom they found in good and proper form, have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall develop cultural contacts between the two States on the basis of mutual friendship, understanding and respect for the principles of sovereignty, non-interference and equality, thereby contributing to the mutual recognition of the cultural values of both States.
The Parties shall promote the development of cooperation and the exchange of experience between cultural, artistic, scientific, educational and health organisations, as well as social and cooperative organisations of both States.
Within the framework of the applicable regulations and existing possibilities in their countries, the Parties will encourage the presentation of musical, film and theatre performances, the organisation of exhibitions, lectures and the publication of major works of scientific and other literature of the other State.
The Parties will facilitate the exchange of artistic, scientific and educational publications, films, music records, music material and works of art on a mutually acceptable basis.
The Parties will develop cooperation on radio, television, film and press. The competent institutions and organisations of both States may enter into specific arrangements for this purpose.
Each Party shall promote the dissemination of knowledge about the other country in the public as well as in schools and awareness-raising facilities.
The Parties shall promote the mutual exchange of scientists, professors, students, artists, artistic groups and professionals in the field of art and culture, social and cooperative organisations.
The Parties shall, as far as possible, allow the study of citizens of the other State in higher and vocational schools as well as in research and scientific institutes and grant them scholarships.
The Parties shall promote contacts between sports organisations and athletes of both countries and the organisation of sports matches.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall agree on the implementation plans or programmes of cultural cooperation for a specific period of time or shall agree by diplomatic means on the actions they intend to organise in the next period.
If a dispute arises between the Contracting Parties concerning the interpretation of any provision of this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall resolve it by diplomatic means.
Any provision of this Agreement may be amended by common agreement between the Parties.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval in accordance with the relevant constitutional provisions of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date of exchange of the instruments of such approval, which shall be implemented as soon as possible.
1. This Agreement shall remain in force three years after its entry into force.
2. If one of the Contracting Parties does not declare this Agreement in writing six months before the expiry of the period referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article, it shall be extended until such time as one of the Contracting Parties has notified it in writing with six months' notice.
