on the Agreement on cooperation in the field of health between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia
On 29 May 1964, the Agreement on cooperation in the field of health was signed in Prague between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia.
Pursuant to Article 12 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 19 August 1966.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
on cooperation in the field of health between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia, guided by the desire to develop friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries in the field of health, have decided to conclude the following agreement:
The Parties shall develop cooperation and promote the exchange of experience on health and medical science issues.
The Parties shall exchange experience gained in the organisation of health care and management of health services, in particular in the areas of preventive and therapeutic care, sanitary and anti-epidemic care, health education and the use of medical tools, instruments and medicines.
The Parties shall exchange programmes and documents on study trips, conferences and gatherings relating to health issues. If an international assembly is held in the territory of one of the Contracting Parties, that Contracting Party may invite the other Party to participate in that meeting.
The Parties shall exchange technical literature, medical films, visual aids and other medical information.
In order to combat infectious diseases jointly, the Parties will exchange experiences on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of such diseases.
The Parties shall develop and deepen cooperation between research institutes, health schools and other health facilities through the exchange of experience.
The Parties shall cooperate in the field of vocational training of health workers, in particular:
1. the Czechoslovak Party shall assist in the education of Tunisian health professionals by sending Czechoslovak qualified experts to the Republic of Tunisia for the purpose of the education of Tunisian health professionals, or, where appropriate, by allowing Tunisian health professionals to study in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic;
2. promote the exchange of doctors and other healthcare professionals for the purpose of training them or achieving specialisation, and, where appropriate, to study certain types of diseases;
3. the Czechoslovak Party will continue to provide medical assistance to the Tunisian Party by sending Czechoslovak medical experts to the Republic of Tunisia on the basis of a valid agreement concluded between the Polytechnic Undertaking of Foreign Trade on the one hand and the State Secretariat on the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs on the other;
4. Contracting Parties shall exchange teaching tools and teaching experience.
The competent authorities and institutions of the two Contracting Parties shall receive each other's sick parties into constitutional treatment, in particular in the event of sudden illness.
Each year, the Ministry of Health of the two States shall negotiate a specific cooperation plan to implement the provisions of this Agreement.
The Contracting Parties shall implement each other's costs arising from cooperation under the provisions of this Agreement on the basis of the following principles:
1. medical literature, teaching and visual aids, films and medical information material will be exchanged free of charge;
2. in the case of mutual transmission of delegations or participation in meetings and conferences, the sending Party shall bear travel costs for the place of destination and return, the receiving Party shall bear the costs of accommodation, catering, local transport, including the corresponding allowance;
3. the costs associated with the posting and residence of doctors and other healthcare professionals in the territory of the other Contracting Party shall be borne by the Contracting Party at whose request they have been seconded;
4. the costs of providing constitutional treatment and medical assistance within the meaning of Article 8 shall be borne by the party sending the sick; emergency medical assistance shall be provided to the citizens of the other Contracting Party free of charge.
Mutual cost accounting in accordance with Article 10 of this Regulation: The agreements will be implemented by means of a payment agreement between the two countries through the State banks of the two Contracting Parties.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of 5 years and shall be automatically extended by another five years, unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it six months before its expiry.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval under the national provisions of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force in exchange for a note of its approval.
