on the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Yemeni People's Democratic Republic
The Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Yemeni People's Democratic Republic was signed in Prague on 3 June 1975. Pursuant to Article 10 of the Agreement, the Agreement entered into force on 31 October 1975.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Yemeni People's Democratic Republic
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Yemeni People's Democratic Republic, led by the desire to facilitate and develop cooperation and exchange in the fields of culture, education, science and health between the two states,
convinced that such cooperation will contribute to strengthening mutual good relations,
decide to conclude a cultural agreement and agree to this end as follows:
The Parties shall promote the development of cooperation and the exchange of experience between the scientific, cultural, educational and health institutions of the two States and, to this end, allow mutual visits to university professors and teachers of secondary and industrial schools as well as to members of other institutions.
Each Party shall grant scholarships and other advantages to nationals of the other Party and shall allow them to study at universities, art schools, technical schools and other institutions.
The Parties will extend cultural contacts between the two States, organise musical and artistic performances, lectures, art, archaeological and scientific exhibitions, organise mutual visits to cultural, artistic and sports student delegations. They will also expand cooperation between scientific and cultural organisations.
Both Parties will support mutual visits and friendly matches between youth sports organisations.
Both Parties shall examine the issue of recognition of diplomas and scientific degrees and, if deemed necessary, shall conclude a specific agreement to that end.
Both Parties will facilitate the exchange of books, cultural, scientific and artistic journals, cinemas, television films and support the organisation of film festivals.
Each Party shall make it possible to publish translations of significant scientific, cultural and artistic literary works by authors of the other Party.
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the area of press, radio and television broadcasting and shall organise exchanges between representatives of official press agencies.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall negotiate cultural cooperation programmes for a period of two years.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval in accordance with the internal laws of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date on which the Parties notify each other of such approval.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years and shall be extended by another five years each time if no Contracting Party terminates six months before the expiry of the current five-year period.
