on hop production areas, hop positions, compulsory hop grading and hop register.
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
Production hop areas and hop positions
(1) Chmelarská production areas are "Žatecko," "Úštěcko," "Tršicko," "Piestšansko-Topoľčansko" and "Trebišovsko."
(2) Places in hop production areas producing hops which are particularly suitable are declared to be hop positions. The Chmelar positions are "Podlesí" and "Valley of the Golden Brook" on Žateck and "Polepská Blata" on Úštěck.
(3) The boundaries of hop production areas and hop positions are set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in agreement with the participating ministries.
(4) The hop production areas and the hop positions must form continuous units; their names are mandatory for the compulsory grading of hops.
Mandatory grading of hops
(1) All hops grown in hop production areas are subject to compulsory grading.
(2) Mandatory marking of hops means:
(a) for hops grown in hop production areas "Žatecko," "Úštěcko" and "Tršicko"
1. the compulsory labelling of hops by local origin (hereinafter referred to as "hop labelling"); and
2. compulsory verification of the local origin of hops (hereinafter referred to as "certification of hops");
In the case of hops grown in the hop production area "Tršicko" delivered to domestic breweries only the marking of hops is sufficient.
(b) u hops grown in the hop production areas of "Piestansk-Topoľčansko" and "Trebišovsko" only the labelling of hops.
(3) Mandatory grading is not subject to hops and hops which do not have typical characteristics of hops of the variety "Red."
Labelling of hops
(1) The marking of hops is carried out by the Central Control and Examination Institute of Agricultural in Prague (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") by hop confidants. The breeder is obliged to declare the hops produced in the hop production areas prior to its ejaculation to the chmelar confidante in the production community for designation.
(2) The hop marking shall include the following particulars:
(a) the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic;
(b) "Hops" with an indication of the year, where in the case of hops grown in Czech hop production areas, the word "Czech" shall be inserted after the word "hops"; in the case of hops grown in Moravian hop production area, the word "Moravian" and in the case of hops grown in Slovak hop production areas, the word "Slovak";
(c) the production area;
(d) the production community.
(3) In the case of hops from the production community situated in one of the hop positions, it is permitted to use clauses indicating the name of the respective hop position.
(4) The hops confidant shall designate each grower's hops separately; After weighing the hops, they shall affix a seal (seals) and issue a serious sheet for each labelled packaging.
Verification of hops
(1) Verification of hops is carried out by the Institute.
(2) The Institute shall exclude from the verification of hops not complying with the Czechoslovak state standard of quality, hops which do not have the typical characteristics of "Red" and hops, for which it cannot be reliably demonstrated that it was grown in hop production areas "Žatecko," "Úštěcko" and "Tršicko"
(3) The Institute shall mark the verification of hops on its packaging, seal the packaging with its seals and seals and issue a certificate. The Institute may, in addition to the local indications referred to in § 3 (2) and (3), use an additional indication of the origin of hops when verifying hops.
(4) The Institute may verify hops which it has not yet been able to verify properly, but for which the infringement of the conclusions and the repackaging in the packing centre must be provisionally verified and the hops remaining after the repackaging. issue a "provisional certificate of verification '.
Changing hops and mixing
(1) Marked hops which have not yet been exported from the production community may only be packed under the control of a hop confidant. Otherwise, the repackaging of hops may be carried out only under the control of the Institute. The repackaging of hops shall be indicated on the packaging and on the serious sheet, if applicable in the certificate. When repackaging hops in the production community, only hops in their original state and from the same grower may be used.
(2) It shall be prohibited to mix hops corresponding to the Czechoslovak state quality standard with hops not corresponding to it, foreign hops with domestic hops and hops of the variety "Red" with hops which do not have the typical characteristics of hops of that variety. Mixing of hops may only be carried out if the hops come from the same production area and from the same year. The mixing and treatment of hops shall be subject to the control of the Institute.
(3) In the case of hops changed or mixed, the Institute may refrain from giving up the production community. In such a case, the certificate shall state "Overpacked 'instead of the production community.
Cattle
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry may, in an agreement with the central authorities involved, impose an obligation to indicate foreign hops which enter into circulation in the country and to adapt the scope and manner of its labelling. In so doing, the names and designations intended for the marking of hops of domestic or similar names shall not be used.
Bitter confidant
(1) The hop confidant and his representative shall be appointed by the institute of hop growers of the relevant production community on a proposal from the local national committee.
(2) The tasks of hop confidants and the manner in which they are remunerated are determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in agreement with the participating ministries.
Registration, renewal, interference and maintenance of hops
All hop plants (hop parcels) are subject to registration. The register of hops, their renewal, cancellation and maintenance shall be adapted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry by an official decree.
Final provisions
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry shall, in agreement with the central authorities involved, issue provisions for the implementation of this Act, in particular provisions on the replacement of costs associated with the compulsory marking of hops and on the marking and verification of hops, on its repackaging, mixing, modification and handling.
All provisions contrary to this law shall be repealed; In particular, Act No. 89 / 1934 Coll., on the compulsory grading of hops and on the adjustment of the extent of hop cultivation, Decree No. 161 / 1934 Coll., implementing Act No. 89 / 1934 Coll., as amended, and Decree No. 134 / 1950 Coll., on the registration of hops, is repealed.
This Act shall take effect on 1 July 1957; It shall be implemented by the Ministers for Agriculture and Forestry and the Food and Purchase of Agricultural Products in agreement with the Ministers involved.
