concerning the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Panama
On 17 October 1977, the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Panama was signed in Panama. The Agreement entered into force pursuant to Article 11 thereof on 4 January 1978.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Panama
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Republic of Panama
led by the desire to develop cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture,
agree as follows:
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of culture and education.
The Parties shall promote contacts between universities and the scientific institutions of both countries and to this end assist in the exchange of scientists and teachers for lectures, studies and research in their field.
The Parties shall provide scholarships to students, experts, technicians, scientists and artists of the other country in a manner to be specified in the implementation plans for this Agreement.
The Contracting Parties undertake to examine the conditions for mutual recognition of the validity of completed studies, composite examinations and diplomas achieved in the relevant educational establishments.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between cultural and educational institutions and organisations of both Parties.
The Parties shall support:
(a) organisation of exhibitions of cultural, technical and scientific character
b) organizing theatre and film festivals and participating in international film festivals organised by the Contracting Parties
(c) presentation of music and film works in radio and television
(d) presentation of artistic, educational and documentary films on a commercial and non-commercial basis
(e) translation of literary and scientific works
(f) cooperation and exchange of programmes between the radio organisations of the Contracting Parties.
Each Contracting Party shall allow temporary export or import, in accordance with its national rules, of scientific and technical equipment, teaching material, works of art, books and documents which could contribute effectively to the development of the activities contained in this Agreement.
The Parties shall promote the import of books, magazines and other cultural, scientific and technical publications of the other Party in accordance with their national rules.
In implementing this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall ensure mutual protection of copyright in accordance with their national rules and in accordance with the international treaties by which both Parties are bound.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall negotiate, for a three-year period, plans for cultural cooperation and the financial conditions for such cooperation.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date on which the Contracting Parties notify each other in writing that they have been approved under their national rules and remain in force unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it with a six-month notice.
Done at Panama, 17 October 1977 in duplicate, each in the Slovak and Spanish languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
