on the Protocol on the renewal of normal contacts between the Czechoslovak Republic and Japan
On 13 February 1957 a Protocol on the renewal of normal contacts between the Czechoslovak Republic and Japan was negotiated in London.
The National Assembly gave its consent to the Protocol on 6 March 1957 and was ratified by the President of the Republic on 22 March 1957. The instruments of ratification were exchanged in London on 8 May 1957.
Article 6 The Protocol entered into force on 8 May 1957.

PROTOCOL
on the renewal of normal contacts between the Czechoslovak Republic and Japan
the Czechoslovak Republic and Japan,
Desiring to put an end to the state of war, which unfortunately continues between the two countries until now, and to resume peaceful and friendly relations with each other in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter,
agree as follows:
The war between the Czechoslovak Republic and Japan ends on the day on which this Protocol becomes effective.
Diplomatic contacts between the Czechoslovak Republic and Japan will be renewed and both countries will immediately exchange diplomatic representatives in the rank of ambassadors.
1. The Czechoslovak Republic and Japan confirm that they will follow the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and in particular the following principles contained in Article 2 thereof:
(a) settle their international disputes by peaceful means so that international peace, security and justice are not threatened;
(b) avoid, in their international relations, threats by force or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State or any other way incompatible with the objectives of the United Nations.
2. The Czechoslovak Republic and Japan undertake each other not to interfere with each other either directly or indirectly for economic, political or ideological reasons.
The Czechoslovak Republic and Japan renounce each other of their claims and claims by their organisations and citizens against the other state and its organisations and citizens, if they arise from war between the two countries.
The Czechoslovak Republic and Japan agree to enter into negotiations as soon as possible to negotiate contracts or agreements to build their trade, maritime and other commercial contacts on a firm and friendly basis.
This Protocol shall be ratified and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of instruments of ratification. The instruments of ratification will be exchanged in London as soon as possible.
To prove the signature below, they would be duly empowered to sign this Protocol.
Made in English in London on the 13th day of February, one thousand nine hundred fifty-seven.
