concerning the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Costa Rica
The Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Costa Rica was signed in San José on 11 October 1977. Pursuant to Article 11 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 25 September 1981.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Costa Rica
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Republic of Costa Rica,
led by the desire to develop cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture,
they have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science, education and health.
The Parties shall promote contacts between universities and the scientific institutes of both countries and to this end assist in the exchange of scientists and teachers for studies, lectures and research in their field.
The Parties shall provide study and postgraduate scholarships to students, experts, technicians, scientists and artists of the other country in a manner to be specified in the implementation plans for this Agreement.
The Contracting Parties shall examine the conditions for mutual recognition of the validity of the studies carried out, the examinations carried out and the diplomas achieved in the territory of one of the Contracting Parties.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between cultural institutions and organisations of both Parties.
The Parties shall promote, in the interests of the knowledge of the other Party:
(a) the holding of exhibitions of cultural, technical, scientific and medical character;
(b) the holding of theatre, music and film festivals;
(c) the presentation of film and music works in radio and television.
Each Contracting Party shall allow temporary export or import, in accordance with its national rules, of scientific and technical equipment, teaching material, works of art, books and documents which could contribute effectively to the development of the activities contained in this Agreement.
The Parties shall promote the import of books, magazines and other cultural, scientific and technical publications of the other Party in accordance with their national rules.
In implementing this Agreement, the Contracting Parties shall ensure the protection of copyright in accordance with their national rules and in accordance with the international treaties by which both Parties are bound.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall negotiate, for a specific period of time, cultural cooperation plans which shall also include financial security conditions for exchanges and cultural events.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date on which the Contracting Parties notify each other in writing that they have been approved under national law and shall remain in force unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it at six months' notice.
Done at San José, 11.10.1977, in duplicate, each in Slovak and Spanish languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
