on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Mozambique on scientific and technological cooperation
On 3 July 1979, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Mozambique on Scientific and Technological Cooperation was signed in Maputo. The Agreement entered into force pursuant to Article X thereof on 5 July 1979.
The Czech translation of the text of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Mozambique on scientific and technological cooperation
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Mozambique (hereinafter referred to as the Contracting Parties), wishing to further develop mutual scientific and technical cooperation in order to strengthen friendly relations and promote economic relations between the two countries, have agreed as follows:
Both Parties will cooperate in scientific and technical matters with a view to making the most effective use of the latest results of science and technology for both countries' economic development.
Cooperation between the Contracting Parties as referred to in Article Even this agreement will consist of:
(a) the provision of experts, advisers, medical staff, facilities and supplies under this Agreement;
(b) organising theoretical and practical training of members of both Parties. The beneficiary country shall provide training or specialisation at the same level as it provides trainees and experts of any third country, taking into account the degree of qualification of trainees and experts;
(c) cooperation in any other form of scientific and technical activity to be mutually agreed.
The scope and conditions of scientific and technical cooperation, including the level and manner of remuneration, shall be agreed between the relevant Czechoslovak organisations authorised under Czechoslovak law and the authorised governmental organisations of the People's Republic of Mozambique.
Each Contracting Party shall provide citizens of the other Contracting Party seconded to its territory under this Agreement with all necessary assistance in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in each country.
Each Contracting Party shall ensure that experts of the other Contracting Party carrying out their duties under this Agreement on its territory have the same treatment as experts from any third country.
All persons carrying out their duties in the territory of the other Contracting Party under this Agreement shall comply in their activities with the conditions laid down for the performance of their duties and shall refrain from any interference with other matters.
Each Contracting Party undertakes not to disclose to a third party any specific knowledge acquired in connection with the implementation of this Agreement without the prior consent of the other Contracting Party.
The provisions of this Agreement shall not apply to experts, technicians, officials and other persons carrying out their duties in the territory of one of the Contracting Parties on the basis of individual contracts for the supply of goods or the provision of services related to such supplies of goods.
The Parties shall consult each other, at the express request of one of them, on any matter relating to the implementation of this Agreement.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval in accordance with the legal arrangements of each Contracting Party and shall enter into force on the date of exchange of notes confirming such approval.
This Agreement shall remain in force for three years and shall thereafter be extended silently for a period of one year, unless one of the Contracting Parties terminates it by giving notice three months before the expiry of that period.
Done and signed in Maputo on 3 July 1978 in two original copies in English.
