on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on cooperation in the field of tourism
The Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed in Prague on 2 February 1972.
Pursuant to Article 13 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 28 June 1972.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria on cooperation in the field of tourism
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the People's Republic of Bulgaria
led by efforts to further deepen friendly relations between the peoples of both states, seeking to create the most favourable conditions for mutual recognition of achievements in the construction of socialism and communism, and aiming to promote and further expand mutual tourism, they have concluded the following agreement:
The Parties will expand and deepen cooperation in the field of tourism in order to improve mutual recognition of the lives of the people of both states, their history and the results achieved in the building of socialism.
The Parties shall promote in general the development of all forms of tourism between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the People's Republic of Bulgaria, in particular:
- organised and disorganised tourism,
- youth tourism,
- tourism by the competent authorities of trade unions,
- thematic tours including trips to congresses, symposia, exhibitions, sports events, music and theatre festivals,
- visits between enterprises, organisations, cities, counties and regions on the basis of cooperatives,
- travel of tourists from third countries to CSSR or BLR through tourism organisations.
The Contracting Parties shall implement measures to facilitate border formalities, including adjustments to simplify the formalities for travel documents relating to the crossing of border between tourists of the two States.
The Contracting Parties will implement measures to improve transport links between the two States, in particular:
- the extension of scheduled and irregular air connections,
- improving and expanding regular and exceptional train connections,
- establishing seasonal bus lines,
- creating more favourable conditions for motorised tourists.
The Parties shall promote the development of permanent close cooperation between the senior tourism authorities of the two States as well as between other institutions, organisations and institutions involved in the development and implementation of tourism.
The Parties shall further enhance the cooperation of the tourism authorities of their States in international tourism organisations and exchange experience in this field.
The Contracting Parties shall ensure that the competent authorities and the tourism organisations of both States systematically exchange experience, data, information and other documentation relating to tourism.
The Parties shall promote the exchange of experience and meetings of staff of individual authorities and tourism organisations, in particular with regard to the construction and modification of tourism facilities, the activity of tourism undertakings, scientific documentation, statistics. In order to prepare the cadets and increase their qualifications, they will promote the mutual exchange of travel agents, hotels and restaurants.
The Contracting Parties shall ensure that appropriate publicity, information and recruitment activities improve the awareness of citizens of one State of travel opportunities in the territory of another State, thereby contributing to the expansion of mutual traffic.
Each Contracting Party may establish a tourist information centre in the territory of the other State. The establishment and operation of such centres, their rights and obligations shall be governed by the legislation of the beneficiary State.
The payments for mutual tourism shall be made in accordance with the contractual arrangements applicable between the two Contracting Parties and in a manner agreed by the financial authorities of the two Contracting Parties.
The competent authorities of the Contracting Parties will always negotiate protocols for certain periods of time setting out detailed forms of implementation of this Agreement.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval under the legislation of each Contracting Party and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes on such approval.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of 5 years and shall be extended by no later than a further year, unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing not later than 6 months before the expiry of the relevant period of validity.
Dane in Prague on 2 February 1972 in two copies, each in the Czech and Bulgarian languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
