concerning the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Senegal
On 16 April 1981, the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Senegal was signed in Dakar. The Agreement entered into force on 20 February 1984 pursuant to Article 11 thereof.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Senegal
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Republic of Senegal,
led by the desire to promote and develop contacts and cooperation in the fields of culture, science, education and health,
convinced that this cooperation will contribute to deepening friendly relations between the two countries,
have decided to conclude this Agreement and to this end have agreed as follows:
The Parties shall promote the development of cooperation in the fields of culture, art, science, education, women's education, health and sport.
The Parties shall promote cooperation and exchange of information and experience between artistic, cultural, educational and other organisations and institutions, in particular:
(a) supporting mutual visits by university professors and teachers of professional and scientific establishments;
(b) by organising various exhibitions on the territory of the Contracting Parties;
c) organizing concerts, theatre performances and other performances of artists,
(d) the translation and publication of literary and scientific works;
e) exchange of books and other publications in the fields of culture, science and art;
(f) exchanging information on the way of life in the countries of the Contracting Parties in order to extend objective information in textbooks and curriculum;
(g) promoting exchanges of cultural, scientific and health experts;
(h) promoting the exchange and presentation of films.
The Parties shall, as far as possible, grant scholarships to students of the second and third cycle for studies at universities or other school establishments. The number of scholarships and training areas provided will be specified in the cooperation programmes.
The Parties shall examine the possibilities for ensuring the partial or full validity of studies, examinations and diplomas obtained in the territory of one or other Contracting Parties. To that end, they shall examine the possibility of concluding a specific agreement.
Each Party shall ensure access to libraries, archives, museums, art galleries and other cultural objects by scientific, university, research and educational staff of the other Party in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Parties shall facilitate the participation of representatives of the other Party in congresses, conferences, festivals and other international events organised in the territory of one of the Parties.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between radio and television stations and assist in establishing cooperation between the press agencies of their countries.
The Parties shall facilitate, as far as possible, tourist exchanges and facilitate the development of cooperation in the field of sport and between youth and women organisations of their countries.
The Contracting Parties shall, in accordance with the provisions in force, establish the necessary conditions for the fulfilment of the tasks of the citizens of the other State seconded under this Agreement.
Citizens of each of the sending States shall be obliged to comply with the applicable national rules of the receiving State.
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall conclude cooperation programmes for a specified period containing agreed actions, including their financial terms and conditions.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years and shall then be extended silently by another year, unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing within a six-month period of notice.
In the event of its termination, the status of individual users shall be unchanged until the end of the calendar year already beginning and, for scholarships, until the end of the school or academic year beginning on the date of its termination.
This Agreement shall enter into force upon notification that the constitutional provisions in force on each side have been complied with.
To prove this, the agents of the Contracting Parties, duly empowered by their governments, have signed this Agreement.
Done at Dakar, 16 April 1981, in duplicate, each in the Slovak and French languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
