on the Protocol between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German Democratic Republic on the status of border crossing points at common national borders
On 5 August 1971, the Protocol between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German Democratic Republic on the state of border crossings at the common national borders was signed in Prague.
According to its point 6 The Protocol entered into force at the same time as the Treaty between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the German Democratic Republic on cooperation in the field of transport and on passport, customs and other control at the crossing of state borders, i.e. on 5 August 1971.
In accordance with point 4 of the abovementioned Protocol, an amendment to the Protocol under which the road border crossing of God's Dar - Oberwiesenthal for the mutual individual and mass transport of CSSR and GDR citizens is opened was agreed by exchange of notes on 21 April 1972.

PROTOCOL
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German Democratic Republic
on the status of border crossing points at common national borders
1. The two Parties agree that the following border crossings are open to transport across national borders with the entry into force of the Treaty between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the German Democratic Republic on cooperation in the field of transport and on passport, customs and other control at the crossing of national borders:
(a) Railway border crossing points:
Vojtanov - Bad Brambach: Mutual and Transit Carriage of Persons and Goods
Decin - Bad Schandau: Mutual and Transit Carriage of Persons and Goods
Castle N. - Zittau: Mutual and Transit Transport of Goods
Rumburk - Ebersbach: Mutual and transit transport of goods
(b) Road border crossing points:
Vojtanov - Schönberg: Mutual and Transit Carriage of Persons and Goods
Tin - Zinnwald: Mutual and transit transport of persons and goods
Horseradish - Schmilla: Mutual and Transit Carriage of Persons
Varnsdorf - Seifhennersdorf: Mutual transport of persons and goods as well as transit for goods vehicles of CSSR and GDR
(c) River border crossing points:
Horseradish - Schöna: Mutual and Transit Carriage of Goods and Mass Carriage of Persons
2. Transfers across national borders provided for by the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the German Democratic Republic on privileged rail transport services of 30 December 1950 and the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the German Democratic Republic on rail transport on the continuous routes at national borders of 25 April 1956 remain unaffected by the provisions of this Protocol.
3. This Protocol shall also be without prejudice to the provisions contained in other arrangements concerning the crossing of national borders in the area of State borders.
4. Amendments or additions to this Protocol shall be negotiated by diplomatic means.
5. The competent authorities of the two Contracting Parties shall inform their servants and the public of the provisions of point 1 of this Protocol as well as any amendments thereto.
6. The Protocol will enter into force at the same time as the Treaty between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the German Democratic Republic on cooperation in the field of transport and on passport, customs and other control at the crossing of state borders.
7. The Protocol was drawn up in Prague on 5 August 1971 in two copies, each in the Czech and German languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
