DECLARATION
of 7 February 2020
on the definition of nature conservation zones of the National Park of Šumava
The Ministry of the Environment provides, pursuant to Article 18 (5) of Act No. 114 / 1992 Coll., on Nature and Landscape Protection, as amended by Act No. 123 / 2017 Coll., and pursuant to § 79 (3) (g) of Act No. 114 / 1992 Coll., on Nature and Landscape Protection, as amended by Act No. 320 / 2002 Coll., Act No. 218 / 2004 Coll., Act No. 312 / 2008 Coll., Act No. 349 / 2009 Coll. and Act No. 123 / 2017 Coll., ("the Act '):
§ 1
Definition of nature protection zones
(1) Nature conservation zones (hereinafter referred to as "zones") of the Šumava National Park are defined, including territories which do not meet the characteristics of the zones and do not serve to achieve the objective of the zone, but their inclusion in each zone is necessary in order to maintain the integrity of the area of the zone segment under Article 18 (3) of the Act. The characteristics of each zone are further defined according to the natural conditions and objectives of protection.
(2) The indication of the boundaries of the zones on the basis of a copy of the cadastral map, including the electronic form, is stored in the central lists1).
(3) The characteristics of the zones of the Šumava National Park are set out in Annex 1 to this Decree.
(4) The graphical representation of the zones of the National Park of Šumava, including the territory referred to in Paragraph 18 (3) of the Act, is set out in Annex 2 to this Decree.
§ 2
Efficacy
This Decision shall enter into force on 1 March 2020.

Characteristics of the Šumava National Park zones according to natural conditions and conservation objectives
A. Natural zone consists of complex areas with the predominant presence
(a) natural forest ecosystems of spruce, peat forests, meadow forests and beech forests;
(b) natural wetland ecosystems of springs, saltwater and transition peat and soils,
(c) natural rock ecosystems rock vegetation of Sudeten kars;
(d) natural aquatic ecosystems, macrophyte vegetation of oligotrophic ponds and pools, rootstock vegetation and macrophyte vegetation of watercourses;
the aim is to preserve and enable the natural processes to continue undisturbed.
B. Natural near zone consists of complex areas with a predominant presence
(a) man-made forest ecosystems of spruce, peat forests, rubble forests, meadow forests and beech forests;
(b) partially altered wetland ecosystems of saltwater and transition peat and springs;
(c) partially modified aquatic ecosystems of macrophyte vegetation of watercourses;
to achieve a state appropriate to natural ecosystems.
C. The zone of concentrated nature care forms
1. prevailing areas
(a) human significantly altered forest ecosystems of beech and spruce;
(b) human significantly altered grassland ecosystems, fornicating lawns and low to mountain heaths;
(c) man-made water ecosystems macrophyte vegetation of watercourses;
in order to maintain or gradually improve the state of ecosystems relevant to biodiversity, the existence of which is conditional on human continued activity; and
2. prevailing areas
(a) human significantly altered forest ecosystems of beech, rubble, meadow and spruce;
(b) man-made significantly altered saltwater and transition peat,
(c) man-made water ecosystems macrophyte vegetation of watercourses;
in order to restore the nature of nearby ecosystems.
D. The cultural landscape zone consists of:
(a) built-up areas and stable territories of municipalities with the presence of urbanised territories and downstream anthropogenic areas with sporadic vegetation outside their headquarters for their sustainable development;
(b) areas with the occurrence of man-made forest culture ecosystems, intensely managed fields and bows intended for permanent human use.
