on the protection of animals during transport
The Ministry of Agriculture provides, pursuant to § 29 (1), for the implementation of § 8e (3) of Act No. 246 / 1992 Coll., for the protection of animals against abuse, as amended by Act No. 162 / 1993 Coll., Act No. 77 / 2004 Coll. and Act No. 312 / 2008 Coll., ("the Act '):

§ 4
Size of animal transport space
The requirements for the size of the premises for the transport of animals not carried out in the context of an economic activity and for the transport of livestock not exceeding 50 km or within a holding are set out in Annex 3 to this Decree.

§ 6
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.

During long journeys, foals and young horses must be able to lie down. These values may deviate by a maximum of 10% in adult horses and ponies and by 20% in young horses and foals depending not only on weight and height, but also on physical condition, weather conditions and expected journey length.

4. Road and rail transport of pigs
All pigs must have sufficient space to lie or stand in a natural position. In order to comply with this minimum requirement, the stocking density for pigs of approximately 100 kg should not exceed 235 kg / m2.
In view of the breed, growth and physical condition, the above minimum area requirements increase accordingly. In view of the weather conditions and duration of the journey, the minimum area requirements referred to above shall be increased by up to 20%.

The above values apply to the transport of poultry in containers and may vary depending not only on weight and height, but also on physical condition, weather conditions and expected journey time.
7. Road, rail and air transport of dogs and cats
(a) Road transport of dogs
Dogs must have sufficient space to take a natural position to enable them to correct the movements of the vehicle. Dogs must be placed in a means of transport so as not to endanger the driver or themselves. The female in heat must be separated from the male sex.
b) Road or rail transport by means of means of transport where the dog is placed in the transport box
The dimensions of the transport box shall allow the dog to be at least comfortable lying. The box door shall be secured against opening automatically. If the dog is transported in a box that allows it to lie comfortably, it can be transported in this way for a maximum of 6 hours. If the journey exceeds this time, the dog may only be transported in the box described in (c). The box must be secured against movement in the means of transport. The female in heat must be separated from the male sex.
c) Air transport of dogs
Transport boxes must have dimensions such that the dog can stand naturally, easily turn around and lie down and get up without problems. The dimensions of the transport boxes are derived from the size of the dog. The length of the box corresponds to the length of the dog measured from nose to tail. The height of the box shall not be lower than that of the naturally standing dog, including the ears, if any. The width of the box is at least twice the width of the dog's body, measured at the widest point of the body. If the boxes are plastic, they shall be fitted with metal doors, with a lock that makes it impossible to open from the inside. The female in heat must be separated from the male sex.
(d) Road, rail and air transport of cats
Cats shall be placed in the means of transport in such a way as not to endanger the driver or themselves. If cats are transported in transport boxes, the transport box must have dimensions such that the cat can naturally become, easily turn around and lie down and get up without any problems. The transport box must enable the cats to lie comfortably. The dimensions of the transport boxes are derived from the size of the cat. The box must be protected against spontaneous opening. The box must be secured against movement in the means of transport. The transport of multiple cats in a single box can only be carried out if the box corresponds to the number of animals transported. The female in heat must be separated from the male sex.
(e) When transporting cats and short-breed dogs and their cross-breeds, account should be taken of their increased need for fresh air and their susceptibility to breathing difficulties.
8. Road, rail and air transport of other mammals and birds
(a) The size of the transport space for other mammals and birds shall correspond to the size of the animal or group of animals of the species in question so that each animal can stand and lie down or get up without problems.
(b) The size of a container for the transport of birds resting on the husk must allow for sitting on the nest with an upright head and tail for each bird. The size of the container's transport space shall allow upright standing for birds that do not rest on their nests.
(c) The birds must be transported in the dark.
9. Transport of cold-blooded vertebrates
The size of the container for the transport of cold-blooded vertebrate animals, excluding fish, shall allow ventilation, temperature assurance and microclimate conditions corresponding to the species concerned.
