on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on cooperation in the field of tourism
On 18 March 1988, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed in Hanoi. The Agreement entered into force on 15 October 1988 pursuant to Article 8 thereof.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on cooperation in the field of tourism
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam ("the Parties')
led by the desire to develop and further deepen friendly relations between the peoples of both states in a spirit of proletarian internationalism and in accordance with the principles of cooperation between the Member States of the RVHP,
in order to contribute to the development of mutual tourism, which would allow for a deeper understanding of both states' success in building socialism,
agree on the following:
The Parties will develop and expand cooperation in the field of tourism between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with a view to deepening mutual recognition of the achievements of the economy, social, cultural and scientific development as well as historical monuments, natural beauties, tourist attractions and revolutionary traditions of both countries.
The Parties shall cooperate in the development of tourism on the basis of equality of rights and mutual advantages and shall promote travel organised through travel agencies and social organisations, cultural and sporting events, exhibitions, fairs and international meetings, youth travel and specialised thematic tours.
The mode of transport of the travel participants and the carrier shall be determined by the sending party.
The Contracting Parties shall take appropriate measures to promote mutual tourism in order to improve the awareness of citizens of the two States of the possibilities of travelling to the territory of the other State.
The Parties shall promote the exchange of experience, information and documentation on tourism and cooperation between scientific research institutes on tourism issues.
The Parties shall promote the exchange of experts from different areas of tourism.
Payments resulting from mutual tourism will be made under the Payment Agreement applicable between the two States.
The competent authorities of the Contracting Parties shall conclude protocols for agreed periods of time for the implementation of this Agreement. They will assess the implementation and progress of tourism between them as necessary.
This Agreement shall enter into force 30 days after the exchange of diplomatic notes between the Contracting Parties, in which approval of the Agreement will be notified under the legislation of each Contracting Party.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years. It shall then be tacitly extended for a further year unless it is denounced in writing by either Party six months before the expiry of the relevant period.
Done at Hanoi, 18 March 1988 in two original copies, each in the Czech and Vietnamese languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
