extending the deadline for holding the additional elections to the Senate
Parliament has decided on this law of the Czech Republic:
Extension of the deadline for holding the additional elections to the Senate
In accordance with Article 10 of the Constitutional Act No. 110 / 1998 Coll., on the Security of the Czech Republic, the deadlines for holding the supplementary elections to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic declared in the constituency No. 32 by the President of the Republic Decision No. 23 / 2020 Coll., on the announcement of the supplementary elections to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, hereinafter referred to as "the elections', are extended.
Determination of election dates
The days of the elections shall be determined by the President of the Republic no later than 20 days before the first day of the elections so that the first round of elections and any second round of elections are held by 30 June 2020.
Calculation of time limits
For the calculation of the time limits under Act No. 247 / 1995 Coll., on elections to Parliament of the Czech Republic and amending and supplementing certain other laws, as amended, which did not expire until 15 March 2020, the applicable election dates are set in accordance with § 2.
The current election preparation process
(1) The existing acts in the preparation of elections, including those in the matters of registration and establishment of district electoral commissions, remain in force.
(2) Election cards issued before the date of entry into force of this Act may be used on the dates of the elections provided for in Article 2.
Efficacy
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
