The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on the visa waiver was signed in Prague on 4 May 1993.
The Agreement entered into force on 3 June 1993 pursuant to Article 11 thereof.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.
AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on the visa waiver
The Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, led by a desire to develop mutual relations, agreed as follows:
Citizens of the Contracting States holding valid travel documents listed in the Annex to the Agreement may enter the territory of the other Contracting State without visas within 90 days for the purpose of a stay which does not serve gainful activities.
1. Citizens of the Contracting States - holders of diplomatic or service passports who are members of a diplomatic mission or consular post of one Contracting State in the territory of the other Contracting State may reside in the territory of the other Contracting State during the period of secondment without visa.
2. Family members living in the common household with the persons referred to in paragraph 1 may stay without visas in the territory of the second Contracting State for the duration of their secondment, provided they themselves hold diplomatic or service passports.
Citizens of one Contracting State who enter the territory of another Contracting State for the purpose of long-term or permanent residence or gainful occupation must have a visa.
Citizens of one Contracting State may enter the territory of the other Contracting State at international crossing points.
Citizens of one Contracting State shall be obliged to comply with their laws when staying in the territory of the other Contracting State.
The Agreement shall not affect the right of Contracting States to refuse entry or stay in their territory to undesirable persons or persons who do not have sufficient means of securing their stay.
1. The Contracting States undertake to take over their citizens holding valid travel documents without formalities at any time.
2. The Contracting States undertake to take over their citizens who do not hold valid travel documents. If necessary, they shall be issued with a travel document by the relevant diplomatic mission or consular post.
Citizens of one Contracting State who have lost a travel document in the territory of the other Contracting State shall leave the State of residence for a travel document issued by a diplomatic mission or consular post of the competent State.
1. Any Contracting State may suspend, for reasons of State security, the protection of public policy or the health of its citizens, for a transitional period, the implementation of the Agreement or part thereof, with the exception of Article 7.
The introduction and the repeal of these measures shall be notified immediately by diplomatic means to the other Contracting State and shall become effective immediately after such notification.
1. The Contracting States shall exchange, by diplomatic means, the specimen travel documents listed in the Annex to the Agreement no later than 30 days before its entry into force.
2. In the event of a change in the applicable or introduction of new types of travel documents, the Contracting States shall send their new designs together with details of the applicability of such documents by diplomatic means no later than 30 days before their introduction.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the 30th day of its signature.
The Agreement shall be concluded for an unlimited period. It shall expire 90 days after the date of receipt of the written notice from one Contracting State.
On 4 May 1993, in two copies, each in the Czech and Slovenian languages, the two texts being equally authentic.

The following shall be valid travel documents within the meaning of this Agreement:
1. for citizens of the Czech Republic
(a) diplomatic passport;
(b) service passport,
(c) passport,
(d) a sailor's book,
(e) passport.
2. for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia
(a) diplomatic passport;
(b) service passport,
(c) passport,
(d) a sailor's book,
(e) passport.
