DEFINITIONS
Memorial Medal on the 20th anniversary of the liberation of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
The commemorative medal on the 20th anniversary of the liberation of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (hereinafter referred to as the "commemorative medal") is established as an honorary recognition of extraordinary merit in the fight against Hitler's fascism for the liberation of Czechoslovakia.
A memorial medal can be given to Czechoslovak citizens who have exceptional merit in the fight against fascism at home or abroad, especially those who were actively involved in domestic resistance or guerilla fighting with weapons in hand, or otherwise were significantly involved in the uprising of the Czech people in 1945, as well as those who were imprisoned for organising anti-fascist activity.
The memorial medal can be given to the services of the Czechoslovak People's Army and the Security Corps of the Ministry of Interior, which carry historical names and fighting traditions of the anti-fascist struggle of the Czech and Slovak people.
The Memorial Medal is given by the President of the Republic on a government proposal; If a medal is given to soldiers or members of the armed corps, the Minister of National Defence or the Minister of Interior of the President of the Republic shall submit proposals directly.
At the same time as the commemorative medal, a diploma will be issued.
If he dies decorated, he leaves the medal to the survivors for a grand safekeeping.
The memorial medal is a bronze circle with a diameter of 35 mm. On the face of the medal is the flowering lime symbolizing the development of our socialist society. At the edge is the inscription "20th anniversary of the liberation of CSSR" and the year 1965. On the back, there's a machine gun breaking through a string of barbed wire symbolizing victory over fascism. At the edge is the inscription: "For merit in the fight against fascism" and the year 1945.
The ribbon of the medal is 38 mm wide and has a basic grey colour. In the middle there are three 2 mm wide strips in white, red and blue. The edge of the ribbon consists of a 4 mm wide red strip.
The memorial medal is worn on the left side of the chest behind the Memorial medal for the 20th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising. If only the ribbon is worn, it is tensed to a rectangular bar 10 mm wide and 38 mm long.
The matter of the commemorative medal is managed by the office of the President of the Republic.
