between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Finland on cooperation in the field of tourism
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Finland, led by the desire to achieve closer cooperation in the field of tourism,
recognising the importance of tourism not only for the development of the national economy of the two countries, but also for the broader development of friendly relations,
having regard to the provisions concerning the development of tourism in the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe signed in Helsinki on 1 August 1975,
agree on the following:
The Parties will develop cooperation in the field of tourism between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Finland.
To this end, the Parties shall promote:
(a) tourism between the two countries using all kinds of transport;
(b) travel organised by travel agencies and other organisations, travel on the occasion of cultural and sporting events, fairs and professional thematic tours with particular regard to youth travel;
(c) closer cooperation between the tourism authorities of both countries, as well as between other organisations and institutions involved in the development of tourism;
(d) exchange of experience and methods of developing tourism and exchange of professional publications, research materials, statistical and other basic information from all sections of domestic and foreign tourism in both countries.
In order to develop mutual tourism, the Contracting Parties will endeavour to create conditions for their citizens to be better informed about travel opportunities in the other country.
The competent authorities of the Contracting Parties shall conclude protocols or draw up periodic plans to implement this Agreement; where necessary, evaluate their implementation and development of mutual tourism.
The payments related to mutual travel will be made according to the Payment Agreement between the Czechoslovak Republic and Finland signed in Prague on 23 February 1959, including any valid supplements.
This Agreement shall enter into force 30 days after the Parties have exchanged notes by diplomatic means confirming that all the necessary legal conditions have been fulfilled for the Agreement to enter into force.
This Agreement shall remain in force for five years. It shall then be tacitly extended for another year, unless it is terminated in writing by diplomatic channels by either Party six months before the end of the relevant period.
