DECLARATION
Minister for Foreign Affairs

on the International Convention for the Carriage of Goods by Rail (CIM), the International Convention for the Carriage of Passengers and Travel Luggage by Rail (CIV) and the Additional Protocol to the two Conventions
On 7 February 1970, the following were signed in Bern:
(a) the new International Convention on the Transport of Goods by Rail (CIM);
(b) the new International Convention on the carriage of passengers and luggage by rail (CIV);
and the Additional Protocol to the two Conventions.
The President of the Republic ratified both conventions and the Additional Protocol. The instrument of ratification was deposited with the Swiss Government on 18 June 1974.
By decision of the diplomatic conference of the delegates of the Contracting States held in Bern on 5-9 November 1973, the two Conventions and the Additional Protocol entered into force on 1 January 1975. This date also entered into force for the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. At the same time, on 1 January 1975, the International Convention for the Carriage of Goods by Rail (CIM), the International Convention for the Carriage of Passengers and Travel Luggage by Rail (CIV) and the Additional Protocol to the two Conventions, signed at Bern on 25 February 1961, were published by Decree No 6 / 1965 Coll.
The Czech translation of both conventions and Additional Protocol was published by the Federal Ministry of Transport in the book publications of the Transport and Communications Publishers. The texts of both conventions and Additional Protocol can be consulted at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Transport.
