concerning the Cultural Cooperation Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia
The Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia was signed in Tunis on 6 April 1963.
The Agreement entered into force on 5 July 1964 pursuant to Article 11 thereof.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Tunisia
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia, led by an effort to develop on the basis of mutual understanding, respect for their sovereignty and the principle of non-interference of cooperation in the fields of culture, education, art and sport, thereby contributing to the consolidation of friendly ties between their peoples,
have decided to conclude this Agreement and to that end have appointed their agents:
the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, Mr František Kahud, Minister of Education and Culture;
Government of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr Chedli Klibi, State Secretary of Cultural Affairs and Information.
Both sides will promote cultural and artistic contacts between the two countries.
In addition, both parties have agreed to exchange their knowledge and experience in education and scientific research.
The Parties shall promote cooperation between cultural, artistic, scientific and educational organisations and institutions and mutual visits to professors, writers, scientists and artists.
Each Party shall support members of the other Party in studies or traineeships by providing scholarships and support.
Both sides will facilitate the exchange of artistic exhibitions, theatrical, musical or folklore groups, sports delegations and will support the organisation of sporting competitions between the two countries.
The Parties shall promote cooperation in the areas of press, radio and television.
Both sides will facilitate the exchange of books, scientific, cultural and artistic publications, films and television films and will support the implementation of film co-productions.
Both Parties shall facilitate the publication of important scientific, cultural and artistic works by members of the other Party.
Each Party undertakes to guarantee in its country the copyright of members of the other Party under international conventions signed by the Parties.
Both sides will ensure that cultural, historical and geographical textbooks, used in each of the two countries, give the most precise picture of the country of the other Contracting Party.
In implementing this Agreement, a cultural cooperation programme shall be drawn up each year to specify the content of cultural actions.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of instruments of ratification and shall be valid for a period of 2 years. After the expiry of this period, it shall be automatically extended for another year, unless it is terminated in writing three months before its expiry.
