on the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Sudan on cooperation in the field of health
On 12 February 1970, the Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Sudan on cooperation in the field of health was signed in Khartoum.
Pursuant to Article 12 thereof, the Agreement entered into force on 23 July 1970.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Sudanese Democratic Republic on cooperation in the field of health
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Sudanese Democratic Republic, in an effort to consolidate friendly relations and cooperation in the health sector between the two countries, have decided to conclude the following agreement:
The Parties shall develop cooperation and promote the exchange of experience on health and medical science issues.
The Parties shall exchange experience in the field of public health and the management of health services, in particular in the field of preventive and medical care, hygiene and anti-epidemic care, health education and experience with medical instruments, instruments and medicines.
The Parties shall exchange programmes and documents on study trips, conferences and meetings on health issues. If an international convention takes place in the territory of one of the Contracting Parties, the Contracting Party shall invite the other Party to participate.
The Parties will exchange lists of medical literature, medical films, teaching and other medical education tools.
In joint control of infectious diseases, the Contracting Parties shall exchange experience in preventing, diagnosing and treating such diseases and shall send each other appropriate summaries of the epidemiological situation.
In exchange of experience, the Parties will promote and expand cooperation between research institutes, schools for health professionals and other health institutes.
The Parties shall cooperate on the training of health workers, in particular:
1. The Czechoslovak Party will assist in the training of Sudanese health professionals by sending experts to the Sudanese Democratic Republic to train Sudanese health professionals there, or by giving Sudanese health professionals the opportunity to study in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
2. Both sides will promote the exchange of doctors and other healthcare professionals and provide them with post-graduate training in a specific field or allow them to study certain types of diseases.
3. The Czechoslovak Party will send medical professionals to the Republic of Sudan on the basis of specific arrangements agreed between the competent authorities of both Parties.
4. The Parties shall exchange teaching tools and teaching experience.
The competent authorities and the institutes of the two Contracting Parties will receive the sick other Contracting Parties into constitutional treatment, in particular in cases of sudden illness.
In order to implement this Agreement, the Parties shall, where appropriate, negotiate specific cooperation plans for a specific period of time.
The Contracting Parties shall reimburse each other for the costs incurred in implementing this Agreement in accordance with the following principles:
1. Lists of medical literature and medical films, teaching visual and other aids and health care material will be exchanged free of charge.
2. When sending delegations or attending conferences and meetings, the sending Party shall bear the costs of the journey to and from the destination; the receiving Party shall bear the costs of adequate accommodation, long-distance fare linked to the programme of residence and a reasonable daily diet.
3. The costs associated with the posting and residence of doctors and other health professionals in the territory of the other Contracting Party shall be borne by the Contracting Party at whose request they have been seconded.
4. The costs associated with the provision and treatment of hospitalised patients and medical assistance, as provided for in Article 8 of this Agreement, shall be borne by the Party sending the sick. The necessary appropriate treatment for sudden illness and accidents of citizens of one Contracting Party in the territory of the other Contracting Party shall be provided free of charge.
The mutual cost accounting provided for in Article 10 of this Agreement shall be carried out in accordance with the payment agreement between the two countries.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval in accordance with the provisions of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force upon exchange of notes on its approval.
It shall be negotiated for a period of five years and shall be automatically extended for another five years, unless one of the Contracting Parties cancels it six months before the expiry of the relevant period.
This Agreement may be amended only with the agreement of both Parties.
Written in Khartoum on 12 February 1970 in two original copies, each in Czech, Arabic and English. In the different interpretation of the texts, the English language shall decide.
