of 24 September 1970
amending Decree No 87 / 1964 of the Ministry of the Interior Coll., on driving licences
The Ministry of Interior of the Czech Socialist Republic, in agreement with the participating central authorities pursuant to § 16 paragraph 1 (a) of Decree No. 54 / 1953 Coll., on road traffic, as amended by the legal measure of the Bureau of the National Assembly No. 13 / 1956 Coll.:
Čl. I
Ordinance No 87 / 1964 Coll., on driving licences, is amended as follows:
1. Article 6 (4) reads as follows:
The obligation to undergo periodic medical examinations shall be:
(a) professional drivers of all motor vehicles, drivers licensed in category D and drivers of motor vehicles fire protection and medical and mining rescue services using a special warning signal, after two years; are required to undergo an inspection once a year after the age of 50;
(b) other holders of driving licences after the age of 60 and again after the age of 65 and 68. From 68 years of age, they are required to undergo a medical examination every two years. The report on the outcome of the medical examination shall be submitted within 6 months of the date of reaching the age limits of the transport inspector of the District Department of Public Security responsible for the place of permanent residence; in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Pilsen, the Transport Inspectorate of the City Administration of Public Security.
2. Article 6 (6) reads as follows:
The identification of the physical and mental capacity of applicants for driving licences and medical examinations of motor vehicle drivers shall be carried out by the driving doctor responsible for the workplace in accordance with specific regulations; in other cases, a district doctor competent by residence.
Čl. II
Holders of driving licences who have already reached the age of 60 on the date of application of this Decree shall be required to undergo a medical examination and to submit a report on the result within 6 months of the date of entry into force of this Decree to the Transport Inspectorate of Public Security responsible for permanent residence; in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Pilsen, the Transport Inspectorate of the City Administration of Public Security.
Čl. III
This decree shall take effect on the day of its publication.
