concerning the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Austria on cooperation in the field of health
On 18 November 1982, the Agreement between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Austria on cooperation in the field of health was signed in Vienna. The Agreement entered into force on 1 July 1983 on the basis of Article 4 thereof.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

AGREEMENT
between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Austria on cooperation in the field of health
the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Republic of Austria,
Desiring to promote the development of cooperation between the two States in the field of health,
Believing that this cooperation will contribute to the development of good neighbourly relations between the two States; and
bearing in mind its responsibility to take care of the objectives and principles of the World Health Organisation for the best possible health protection in both countries,
agree to conclude the following agreement:
The Contracting States will promote cooperation in the field of health. Such cooperation shall take place in particular through the exchange of experience in the following areas:
1. management, planning and organisation of health care;
2. education and further training of doctors and other healthcare professionals;
3. organisation of preventive care;
4. the organisation of emergency medical assistance, hospital and spa care;
5. hygiene and combating infectious diseases;
6. organisation and methods of health education;
7. Organisations and methods of drug control.
For the purpose of implementing cooperation, the Contracting States shall support in particular:
1. the cooperation of their health establishments and bodies;
2. the cooperation of their medical scientific societies;
3. mutual exchanges and contacts between scientists and health professionals, in particular for the purpose of continuing professional training, including related use of laboratories, scientific libraries and other documentation centres;
4. the mutual invitation of scientists and experts to relevant professional events.
In order to implement this Agreement, work plans shall be negotiated alternately in one of the two Contracting States for a period of three years. These work plans will be further agreed, taking into account the principles of balance and mutual benefit, the content and form of cooperation, as well as exchanges of scientists and experts, namely the extent, duration of stay and conditions, in particular financial conditions, in the recipient State, including ensuring free urgent medical care.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years. It shall be extended for a further period of five years, unless one of the Contracting States denies this Agreement in writing by diplomatic means at the latest six months before the expiry of that period.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the first day of the third month following the end of the month in which the Contracting States have notified each other in exchange that the national conditions for entry into force of the Agreement have been fulfilled.
To prove it, the agents of both Contracting States signed this Agreement and sealed it.
Done at Vienna, 18 November 1982, in two original copies, each in the Czech and German languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
