The Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on cooperation in the field of health was signed in Athens on 22 October 1980. The Agreement entered into force on 14 March 1983 pursuant to Article 6 thereof.

AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on cooperation in the field of health
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Hellenic Republic,
Desiring to promote cooperation between their countries in the field of health,
convinced that this cooperation will contribute to improving the health status of the population of both countries and to developing their relations; and
in accordance with the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe signed in Helsinki on 1 August 1975,
agree on the following:
The Parties shall develop and expand their scope of cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences and shall promote mutual exchange of experience.
The Parties shall promote such cooperation in particular through:
(a) exchanges of health care legislation, as well as information and publications on health problems and methods and methods used to address them;
(b) cooperation between scientific research institutes, medical establishments and medical scientific societies on health matters of mutual interest;
(c) participation of citizens of one country in post-graduate studies and special courses organised by other countries' scientific and educational establishments;
(d) participation of experts from one country in medical congresses, conferences, international or bilateral seminars and symposia organised in the other country.
The Parties will facilitate reciprocal exchanges of scientists, researchers, as well as other medical and health professionals.
Each Contracting Party shall provide the citizens of the other Contracting Party free of charge with outpatient treatment and emergency emergency assistance when direct medical intervention is unavoidable and urgent, as well as an unavoidable treatment for compulsorily reported communicable diseases, except tuberculosis and STDs.
1. In order to comply with the provisions of this Agreement, a Joint Czechoslovak-Greek Committee will be established. This committee will meet every three years alternately in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Hellenic Republic to draw up detailed cooperation plans and assess their implementation. These plans shall also specify the financial and organisational provisions necessary for the implementation of this Agreement.
2. Notifications concerning the cooperation referred to in this Agreement shall be made by diplomatic means.
This Agreement shall be subject to approval under the constitutional provisions of the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes on such approval.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of 5 years and shall be tacitly extended for another 5 years, unless one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing 6 months before its expiry.
