on public holidays, on working days and on memorable and important days
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic decided on the following Act:
National Holidays
Days 8 May, the day of the liberation from fascism, 5 July, the day of the Slavic news of Cyril and Methodius and 28 October, the day of the creation of a separate Czechoslovak state is declared public holidays of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.
Days of work.
(1) National Holidays are working days.
(2) The rest of the rest of the working days shall be:
(a) 1 January (New Year),
(b) Monday Easter,
(c) 1 May (Labour Day),
(d) 24 December (Christmas Eve),
(e) 25 December (Christmas Day 1),
(f) December 26 (Christmas Day 2).
Significant and memorable days of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic
The significant days of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republics are:
(a) May 5,
(b) 29 August;
(c) 17 November (day of student struggle for freedom and democracy).
The commemorative day of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic is 6 July (Master Jan Hus).
The important and memorable days of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic are working days.
Final provisions.
All current regulations in the field of holiday law are repealed.
This Law shall take effect on 1 January 1952; it shall be carried out by all members of the Government.
