on the Agreement for scientific and technological cooperation and industrial cooperation between Czechoslovakia and India
On 30 May 1973, the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Industrial Cooperation between Czechoslovakia and India was signed in Prague, which, according to Article 8, entered into force on 30 November 1973.
The Czech translation of the Agreement is announced simultaneously.

AGREEMENT
on scientific and technological cooperation and industrial cooperation between Czechoslovakia and India
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
and the Government of the Republic of India
led by the desire to develop scientific and technological cooperation and industrial cooperation,
convinced of the usefulness of such cooperation to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries,
agree to sign this Agreement:
The Parties shall take the necessary measures to promote the development of scientific and technological cooperation and industrial cooperation between the relevant organisations of each sector of the national economy of the Parties.
In order to achieve the objectives referred to in Article 1, the Contracting Parties shall, according to their best efforts, support in particular:
(a) Cooperation in the field of industrial research and technological development between the authorities responsible for the management of science and technology in both countries, where appropriate between research institutions, design and design offices and industrial organisations, which will be empowered by those managing authorities of both Parties to cooperate.
Cooperation in the field of industrial research and technological development will take place:
(aa) joint study of problems in the field of applied research, including the introduction of the results of such research into production;
(ab) exchange of experts from one country for study visits to research institutes and industrial enterprises of the other country, for carrying out research work under the agreed programme, for organising lectures and seminars;
(ac) facilitating the organisation of expert consultations on the various problems of applied research and technological development;
(ad) by inviting experts to participate in national scientific and technological conferences organised in both countries;
(ae) exchange of scientific and technical information and publications in the field of industrial research and technological development and technical films, according to the interests of both parties;
(af) and other forms of scientific and technological cooperation agreed between the Parties.
(b) Production co-operation shall take place:
(ba) cooperation between industrial organisations in order to make full use of their production capacity, the allocation of the production of parts and nodes of machinery and equipment and the joint production of such machinery and nodes, as required by the verification of the results of research and development.
The precondition for such cooperation is that it will take place between the industrial organisations of both Contracting Parties which do not have foreign cooperation with third countries in the region. Another prerequisite is that this cooperation will take place on the basis of an invitation from the receiving party;
(bb) cooperation in the preparation of projects, including drawings, proposals and implementation of projects with the delivery of equipment and services in the countries of both Contracting Parties or in third countries, if agreed by both Contracting Parties; and
(bc) measures to ensure the exchange and use of information on patents and production licences in accordance with mutually agreed conditions.
The implementation of this Agreement shall be regularly monitored by the Contracting Parties.
The agreements and contracts between the organizations of the Contracting Parties under this Agreement shall be submitted to the Committee on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation of India and shall be concluded in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable in the territory of the Contracting Party concerned. Those arrangements and contracts shall, inter alia, determine the obligations of the cooperating partners.
Payments arising from the arrangements and contracts referred to in Article 4 of this Regulation: The agreements shall be implemented under a trade and payment agreement applicable between the Parties.
The conditions and financial provisions relating to the implementation of scientific and technological cooperation shall be agreed for each individual project or group of projects by the cooperation institutions of both Parties within the meaning of this Agreement.
The Parties shall support the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Scientific and Industrial Development Council of India on 26 April 1966 and shall support those institutions in developing contacts in the field of basic research in accordance with the guidelines for scientific and technological cooperation between the Parties.
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of notes confirming that it has been approved by both Parties under their respective constitutional requirements. It shall remain in force until one of the Contracting Parties denies it in writing within a period of six months, provided that the termination of this Agreement does not affect the validity of the arrangements and contracts already concluded between organisations and undertakings under this Agreement.
In order to prove the signature below, duly authorised by their governments, they signed this agreement.
