The Bureau of the National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Republic has acted in accordance with Article 66 of the Constitution on the following legal measure:
(1) A branch of the Czechoslovak Academy of Agricultural Sciences based in Bratislava (hereinafter referred to as "the branch ') is hereby established. The branch exercises the competence of the Czechoslovak Academy of Agricultural Sciences (" the Academy') in Slovakia.
(2) The authorisations attached to the Minister for Agriculture and Forestry vis-à-vis the Academy are exercised by an agent for agriculture and forestry in respect of its branch.
(1) The head of the branch shall be the President, who shall direct the scientific research and economic activity of the branch. The Chair of the branch shall be assisted by the Bureau of the branch in the performance of his duties.
(2) The Bureau of the branch shall consist of the Chair of the branch, its Deputy, the Scientific Secretary of the branch and other members of the Bureau of the branch, the number of which shall be determined by the General Assembly of the Academy.
(1) The Chair of the branch, his representative and scientific secretary of the branch shall be elected by the General Assembly of the Academy for 5 years; the other members of the Bureau of the branch shall be appointed by the President of the Academy on a proposal from the Chair of the branch for 3 years. The head of the branch, his deputy and scientific secretary of the branch are also members of the Academy Bureau.
(2) The detailed organisation of the branch will be adapted by the Statutes of the Academy.
The provisions of Act No. 52 / 1952 Coll., on the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, as amended by Act No. 53 / 1957 Coll., remain unaffected.
This legal measure shall take effect from 1 January 1959; they shall be carried out by the Minister for Agriculture and Forestry in agreement with participating members of the Government.
