Slovak National Council
of 14 July 1969
on the State Prize of the Slovak Socialist Republic
The Slovak National Council decided on this law:
The State Prize of the Slovak Socialist Republic ("the State Prize ') is awarded to individuals or collectibles as a token of recognition for outstanding creative results or performances in the field of science and art, which have enriched human knowledge or created great artistic values, and have also contributed to a significant increase in the material and spiritual wealth of the Slovak people and the nationalities of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
The State Prize is awarded by the Presidency of the Slovak National Council on 29 August each year on a proposal from the Government of the Slovak Socialist Republic ("the Government ').
(1) The honorary title of "Laureate of the State Prize of the Slovak Socialist Republic" belongs to the Honorary.
(2) The Laureates of the State Prize will be given a deed to award this prize and have the right to wear a ribbon symbolizing the State Prize.
(3) The State Price is accompanied by a remuneration, the amount of which is determined by the Statute.
(1) The proposals for the award of the State Prize by organisations, bodies, offices or individuals are examined and submitted to the Government by the Committee on the State Prize of the Slovak Socialist Republic (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) after discussion in its expert sections.
(2) The Chairman of the Committee is the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Socialist Republic.
The terms of the proposals for the award of the State Prize, the manner in which they are discussed, as well as the details of the award of the State Prize and the exercise of the powers provided for in Section 3, if the State Prize is awarded to the collective, shall be adapted by the Government.
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
