GOVERNMENT REGULATION
of 30 August 1962
on teaching institutes
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic orders pursuant to § 3, § 17 paragraph 1, § 25 paragraph 3 of Act No. 58 / 1950 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, as amended by Act No. 46 / 1956 Coll., and § 45 paragraph 1 of the Act No. 65 / 1960 Coll., on National Committees:
(1) Pedagogical institutes are universities. They are taught by teachers for schools providing basic general education.
(2) The pedagogical institutes are managed and managed by the Minister for Education and Culture.
The pedagogical institutes are in Prague, Brandýse nad Labem, in České Budějovice, in Pilsen, in Karlovy Vary, in Ústí nad Labem, in Liberec, in Hradec Kralove, in Pardubice, in Jihlava, in Brno, in Gottwaldová, in Olomouc, in Ostrava, in Trnava, in Nitra, in Banská Bystrica, in Martina, in Košice and in Prešov.
(1) The Head of the Education Institute shall be the Director, who shall have two representatives; The Director and his Deputy shall be appointed by the Minister for Education and Culture.
(2) The Director of the Institute of Education, its representatives and other teachers, to be appointed by the Director, shall form a teaching board; at the pedagogical institutes designated by the Minister for Education and Culture, the pedagogical councils shall act as the Scientific Council of the College.
The immediate administration of the Institute of Education is provided by the Directorate, which is also the personal office of the Institute's staff.
In addition to the teachers mentioned in § 25 (1) of Act No. 58 / 1950 Coll., on higher education institutions, as amended by Act No. 46 / 1956 Coll., also other teachers.
(1) Government Regulation No 57 / 1959 Coll., on Education Institutions, is hereby repealed.
(2) Paragraph 35 (5) of Decree-Law No 71 / 1960 Coll., on the extension of the powers and responsibilities of national committees and on the organisation and activities of their bodies, is also deleted where the management of educational institutes has been entrusted to the Regional National Committees.
This Government Regulation shall enter into force on 1 September 1962.
