on the Cultural Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
On 17 June 1976, the Cultural Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was signed in Luxembourg. The Agreement entered into force on 28 April 1978 on the basis of Article 4 thereof.
The Czech version of the Agreement is hereby published at the same time.

CULTURAL AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
led by the desire to develop cooperation and exchanges between the two countries in the field of culture;
convinced that such cooperation and such exchanges will contribute to a better understanding and further development of relations between their peoples;
taking into account the common historical traditions of both countries;
have decided to conclude the following agreement:
The Parties shall endeavour to develop cooperation in the fields of culture, education, art, science, physical education and sport, facilitate exchanges and contacts of persons in these areas and promote the exchange of materials and documentation.
The Contracting Parties shall, by common agreement, take appropriate measures to achieve the objectives referred to in Article 1.
Qualified representatives, appointed by the two Parties, shall meet for this purpose in the Joint Commission as necessary, but at least every three years, alternately in one or other countries, to draw up the cooperation programmes referred to in Article 3 in the Joint Agreement and to lay down the conditions for their implementation and financing. The implementation of these programmes shall be entrusted to the competent authorities, cultural organisations and services of each country by the competent authorities.
Cooperation programmes shall cover in particular:
(a) exchanges in the field of education which may be facilitated by the provision of scholarships or other concessions;
(b) exchanges of researchers, lecturers and technicians in the field of science and technology in the common interest of both countries, as well as mutual expert visits;
(c) measures to facilitate access to libraries, archives, museums and other cultural and scientific institutions for researchers and researchers;
(d) exchanges and study visits in the field of art and culture, in particular as regards the organisation of theatre performances, lectures, concerts and exhibitions;
(e) exchanges of athletes, physical education experts and sports cooperatives;
(f) exchanges in the field of youth activity;
(g) exchanges of books, journals, periodicals, films, audiovisual material and other publications of a cultural, educational, artistic and scientific nature;
(h) participation in congresses, conferences and other cultural and scientific events of an international nature organised in both countries.
This Agreement shall be approved in accordance with the constitutional requirements of each Party. It shall enter into force on the day on which both Parties notify each other that those provisions have been complied with.
This Agreement shall be concluded for a period of five years.
Upon expiry of that period, the Agreement shall be tacitly extended for an indefinite period within which it may be terminated at any time by one of the Contracting Parties. In the event of termination, the Agreement shall expire six months after the notification has been received to the other Party.
Done at Luxembourg, 17 June 1976, in duplicate, in the Czech and French languages, the two texts being equally authentic.
