amending and supplementing the rules on navigation safety for the Czechoslovak section of the Danube
In agreement with the participating ministers pursuant to § 2 (2) of Act No. 152 / 1950 Coll., the Minister of Transport hereby mandates that:
Article 10 of the Basic Regulations on navigation in the Danube, issued by the Transport Minister Regulation No. 72 / 1953 Coll., on the Regulations on Navigation Safety for the Czechoslovak section of the Danube, as amended by the Transport Minister Regulation No. 3 / 1956 Coll., reads:
Registration marks and flag
(1) Every ship must carry a flag from sunrise to sunset at the rear of the State to which it belongs.
(2) In addition to the flag, each ship shall have the following registration marks:
(a) the name or number of the ship, placed on both sides and at the rear of the ship in such a way that it is visible from behind; the name or number shall be placed on the college ship. If the inscriptions on the towing boat are not visible on the side or slip lift, they shall be fixed to the railing of the navigating bridge on both sides of the board with the name or number of the ship;
(b) the designation of the home port or registration point located on the stern of the ship;
(c) the full or abbreviated name of the ship-owner organisation located on both sides of the bow; in the case of a ship without its own propulsion, the marking shall also be placed at the rear of the ship;
(d) the designation of nationality of the ship by the initial letters of the State, located as the designation of the home port or place of registration; the designation of the State by the initial letters is not required if the nationality of the ship is apparent from the name of the organisation which owns the ship (owner);
(e) an indication of the maximum permissible number of passengers on passenger ships located in a clearly visible place within the ship;
(f) the marking of carrying capacity of the ship in tonnes on cargo ships in smaller letters on both sides of the ship under the name or number of the ship.
(3) An enterprise emblem may be placed on the chimney or on the exhaust cover to indicate the organisation belonging to the ship (owner).
(4) In the case of small ships (Article 84 of the Basic Regulations), the name or number of the ship is placed on both sides of the ship's external side and the name of the organisation belonging to the ship (owner) is placed in a visible place on the inside or outside of the ship. The name or number of the ship may be replaced by a registration number.
(5) The ship's name or number shall be placed on lifeboats and motor boats belonging to the ship's equipment on the inside or outside of the ship.
(6) All the ship's written registration marks shall be in clear Latin characters and a colour clearly distinct from the background. In addition to the inscriptions in Latin characters, the ship may also be marked in national letters. The height of the letters and figures, indicating the name or number of the ship, shall be at least 20 cm and 15 cm for other inscriptions. On small ships, the height of letters or figures indicating their name or number shall be at least 10 cm. The width of the letters and gaps between them shall be proportionate to the height of the letters and dimensions of the ship. '
This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
