DECLARATION
Central Trade Union Councils
of 21 October 1963
on the movement of working hours during the Christmas period 1963 and the New Year 1964
Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic on a proposal from the Central Council of Trade Unions by Resolution No 908 of 16 October 1963
(a) amended the Government Resolution of 12 September 1962 No 869 on the transfer of working time in 1963, published by Decree No 95 / 1962 Coll. by providing for the following transfers of working time in the period of Christmas 1963 and New Year 1964:
1. Tuesday 24 December shall be the day of work and the working time for that day shall be postponed to Sunday 22 December; each other's working hours shall be transferred to Saturday on 21 December and Monday on 23 December;
2. Tuesday on 31 December is the day of work and the working time for that day is moved to Sunday on 29 December; the working hours relating to Saturday on 28 December and Monday on 30 December shall be transferred to each other;
(b) establish that such transfers of working time do not concern continuously operated workplaces;
(c) stressed the need also for the period of Christmas 1963 and the New Year 1964 to ensure the tasks imposed by Government Resolution No 869 / 1962 in respect of transport and connections, the non-fault supply and distribution of food products, certain services for workers, the operation of nursery, school schools, school satellites and clubs, the loading and unloading of wagons and the continuous supply of continuous operations.
At the same time, the government has ordered all ministers, other heads of central bodies and councils of the Regional National Committees to ensure that continuous work leave during this period is not extended by any further transfers of working time or by processing it, and to draw attention to the inadmissibility of such arbitrary action by the director of production units, undertakings and establishments.
