Government Regulation
of 25 September 1953
favouring the payment of rent.
The Government of the Czechoslovak Republic, with the agreement of the President of the Republic pursuant to § 42 paragraph 1 of Act No. 241 / 1948 Coll., on the first five-year Economic Plan for the Development of the Czechoslovak Republic (Act on the Five-Year Plan):
(1) The rent of the apartments shall be paid monthly in advance, no later than the fifth day of the following month. The arrangement for another rent payment is invalid.
(2) The same applies when it comes to renting parts of apartments, other rooms or whole buildings.
(3) If the lessee is a State, economic or other organisation and establishment of the socialist sector, the rent shall be paid for each calendar quarter at the latest on the fifth day of the second month of that quarter.
The provisions contrary to this Regulation are deleted. in particular:
1. provision § 12 (1) of the second sentence of Act No. 80 / 1952 Coll., on Home Tax, where it imposes an obligation to pay the rent in advance,
2. Clause 8 of the Decree of the Minister of Justice No. 157 / 1950 Coll., implementing certain provisions of the Civil Code, and Section 9 of that regulation, as amended by the Decree of the Minister of Justice No. 50 / 1953 Coll., which partially amends the payment of rent.
This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 October 1953; they shall be carried out by the Minister of Justice in agreement with the participating members of the Government.
