DECLARATION
Federal Statistical Office
of 31 May 1982
on the uniform classification of fields of education
The Federal Statistical Office provides pursuant to § 35 (2) of Act No. 21 / 1971 Coll., on a unified system of socio-economic information, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Czech Socialist Republic and with the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Socialist Republic:
1) (hereinafter referred to as "the classification ') is a basic systematic tool for identifying, monitoring and analysing the population structure according to the level of education achieved and structural movements in society; the classification is part of a single system of socio-economic classifications and code lists.
The subjects of the classification are the fields in which scientific work can be advocated, the fields of study at universities (2) and the fields of study and teaching in secondary schools, including secondary schools for youth requiring special care.
(1) The classification is mandatory in particular in the organisation's alleged bases, for management and planning purposes and for statistical surveys.
(2) In cases where certain persons have completed or completed training for the profession in the fields of education not listed in the classification, the codes of those fields shall be determined according to the conversion key which forms part IV of the classification.
The institutions, authorised under the Specific Regulations (3), may lay down, amend or interrupt the fields of education, in the regulations issued for that purpose in an agreement with the Federal Statistical Office on a case-by-case basis and their codes, with the effect that the classification is amended or supplemented at the same time.
In the field of adjusted classifications, the authorities and organisations for use exceeding the level of the information system of one organisation may issue as their own scope of the sub-purpose nomenclature only with the approval of the Federal Statistical Office; In doing so, special-purpose nomenclature must be constructed in such a way as to ensure their content and numerical continuity to classification.
The Federal Statistical Office may, where justified, allow exemptions from the provisions of Sections 3 and 5 for individual authorities and organisations on a proposal from the relevant central authorities.
A uniform classification of the fields of study and teaching may be used only for a transitional period from the date of entry into force of this Decree, for those fields of study and teaching for which graduates are no longer accepted from 1 September 1984 until the 1st year.
The provisions of Section 3 (2) shall apply to them upon completion of their studies (education) in these fields.
