Constitutional law governing temporarily certain questions concerning the election of judges

CONSTRUCTION LAW
of 25 June 1968
adapting temporarily certain questions concerning the election of judges
The National Assembly of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic decided on the following constitutional law:
Článek 1
(1) The judge authorised to sit in special chambers carrying out review procedures under the Law on Judicial Rehabilitation shall elect the Slovak National Council for the Supreme Court and for the higher military courts of the Federal Assembly, for the Regional Courts in the Czech Socialist Republic and for the Regional Courts in the Slovak Socialist Republic.
(2) The judges of the special chambers may be elected by professional judges and also by other citizens who fulfil the conditions for the election of a judge of the profession. The choice becomes all judges from the profession of the court for which they were elected.
(3) Only the authority which elected the special chambers may dismiss the Judge. The termination of the term of office, as provided for in § 2 of Constitutional Act No. 112 / 1967 Coll., does not affect judges of special chambers.
Článek 2
In the Czech Socialist Republic, the Czech National Council and the Slovak Socialist Republic, the Slovak National Council will elect or recall judges of the regional courts and judges of the district courts. The provisions concerning the election of judges of regional courts shall apply mutatis mutandis.
Článek 3
This Act shall take effect on the day of its publication.
